  but the place is designed such that he sees people coming first.. my corner has one way in and out.. and whoever comes has to pass his cubicle first... so he usually goes "hi, "... and in my semi-conscious state, i'll hear that and spring to life
  
  as for motion sensors, i lost mine serious! i had one free when i bought a walkman.. you could record stuff instead of the usual "bing bong"... it was cool
