  I wrote in to SBST and SMRTB recently for permission to photograph buses at it interchanges, along the bus-stops, and along the roads.
  
  Here's SMRTB's reply:
  Photography is banned in its interchanges and terminals, coz it might "alarm" passengers and the public??? However, I was free to photograph along the roads as I like...
  
  SBST's reply:
  Photography is banned in its interchanges and terminals, PLUS along the bus-stops and roads!!!
  
  I attempted to photograph a midibus on svc 42 which stopped to pick up passengers at the bus-stop opp Kembangan MRT, and was stopped by the BC!!
  
  how demoralising and disappointing to a bus fan!
  everyone's becoming paranoid in Singapore!!! hye.......
  I wonder if bus fans in HK experience such a problem??

  i'm sorry that i failed to keep a copy of the letter that i'd written to SBST and SMRTB...its a brief letter.
  
  i expressed my interests in buses to seek permission to photograph buses at the following locations:
  - at bus interchanges/terminals
  - along the roads
  - at bus-stops
  
  as i had added my h/p contact no. in my letter, both organisations replied my letter through the phone instead...

  This is called playing it safe by both companies as they are afraid that one takes pix of their infrastructure as well.
  
  Seems that you got the other svc 42 captain. The one i got noticed me and he was a very nice chap, reminising about the old 811ds and expressed his happiness that there are fans out there that like buses.

  playing it safe? then why not ban all people including tourists from photography too? doesn't the authorities afraid of an undercover terrorist planning to bomb the skyscrapers, the public space etc as well; since the authorities are so frightened of bus photographers?
