Service 401 will only ply one-direction (towards Bedok) along ECP Service Rd between Marine Parade flyover and Tanjong Rhu flyover.Originally posted by bendy2003:Hmm....wonder whether there's something wrong with your eyes....or mine...

And no more to CBDOriginally posted by tranquilice:This new route will inconvenience some passengers. For example, currently, passengers along East Coast Park Service Rd near Big Splash can take the service to Fort Rd and Mountbatten Rd, but with the amendment, they can't do anymore as the service will be plying one-directional along this stretch of the road (between Fort Rd and Marine Parade flyover) and is heading towards Bedok only.

No... Marine Parade and Old Airport... Today and tomorrow will the last week serving CBD...Originally posted by kuekj:401 now don't serve the city but serve the more popular suburbs of Katong?
It was changed in 1997 if I could remember... The oringal rt lasted the longestOriginally posted by gohby:well, i am quite certain in 1995, 401 is still Bedok to East Coast Park (Loop)
Em.... I said the direction towards CBD...Originally posted by bendy2003:Hmm....wonder whether there's something wrong with your eyes....or mine...
Demand is low to/from the CBD.Originally posted by sbst275:And no more to CBD![]()
Please allow us to explain, when Service 401 was extended to
Tomlinson Road (The Regent Singapore), its operation hour was also
extended. However, despite the extension of the route and operation hours, the demand had been low and the service had not been able to cover its operating costs. Due to the weak demand for this service, we regret that it is not justifiable to further extend the operating hours.

Doesn't it plies Tanjong Katong Rd with the amendment?Originally posted by sbst275:No... Marine Parade and Old Airport... Today and tomorrow will the last week serving CBD...
Yes, 1997. Extended to Lor 1 Geylang terminal, together with a change in route from Bedok South Rd, Bedok South Ave 1 to Siglap Rd.Originally posted by sbst275:It was changed in 1997 if I could remember... The oringal rt lasted the longest
Yes it is... But if you write Katong, later will have other ppl mind that it serves East Coast Rd...Originally posted by tranquilice:Doesn't it plies Tanjong Katong Rd with the amendment?Isn't Tanjong Katong Rd in Katong?

i tink the low demand of sv401 is are due to SBST's fault! When it was launch, there was only a banner at the Hereen bs to indicate a link to ECP bsides the usual poster at bs. Y wuz there nt enough publicity? Noo...Originally posted by tranquilice:

Ev1 who goes to ECP during weekends will only rem sv16/36 even though there's a direct bus of sv401. it's really a pity to amendment sv401...
In addition, wouldn it b better that sv401 operates on School Holidays and start operations on Friday evenings, SAts & Sun/PH? an increase in ridership would only be significant if they put in more effort to promote the service...
Operating on Sch Holidays is possible but logistics can be a problem as majority of svs still need the same no of buses deployedOriginally posted by Acx1688:i tink the low demand of sv401 is are due to SBST's fault! True true, but i notice during 2004 school holidays, there are a lot of bus shuffling like SBS877M on sv16 on almos ev other day, sv196 has been taking a lot of JB buses, surely they can squeeze 2 buses outOriginally posted by sbst275:Operating on Sch Holidays is possible but logistics can be a problem as majority of svs still need the same no of buses deployed
Sv 401 is known @ Bedok since it had started in the 80's
Tanjong Katong Rd is also in the Katong area. It will be confusing if people refers to Tanjong Katong Rd as Tanjong Katong and refers to that stretch of East Coast Rd as Katong.Originally posted by sbst275:Yes it is...
