based on inside sources, the body looks like a cross-breed between a trident and volgren. the back looks like a trident and the front and insides a volgren. it has a 3-part windscreen, V-style wiper, rear desto slot. and of cos, the B10TL radiator grille.

1. The demo may be in hougang depot again. It would be at a 'restricted' area, so one can't see it from Hougang Ave 3.
2. This bodywork is assembled by ComfortDelGro.
3. I speculate that it won't be launched by this year. -

Ha, judging the habit of SBST to give Demonstrators auspicious no. like 2888, 1688, 9888, 9800, 999.........

while tis is not likely, tat might be the B7R demonstrator tat SBST is trying out as a replacement for Mk II's. cos there are rumours of a B7R demo in SBST HGDEP, jus tat i'm not sure wat bodywork they are using or even worse, it may actually be a rumour and the bus itself could be a private vehicle that is jus parked there.
there is the possibility that the demo VSO, or heard it's named the "Concept Bus", may come out soon. note that the difference is that it has a rear desto slot for a VSO, though the back looks more like a Trident.
the body could be made by BA/HG (Bus Assembly/Hougang). there were rumours it may re-open very soon due to the fact that new buses are coming our way since there will be a bus retiring-and-purchasing wave from next year all the way to 2009, when the Mk II's, Scanias, O.405's and Mk III's retire. the first batch of Mk IV's will start retiring only from 2012 onwards.
meanwhile, all the above are jus speculations, though i can confirm with you that the bus is here with us, or more correctly, with SBST. so hope no one will continue to say that it died or whatsoever.

oh yes, no rego has been assigned for it yet, so dun expect it to be out on the streets yet. but a bus with rego doesn't mean it is registered though, e.g. SBS2992A, the CNG bus hibernating in bram. SBS2990E-2999G are not registered yet too.
none of the mentioned regos are registered yet, incl. 9691, 9696, 9700, 9850, 9887, 9889, 9900, 9988 and 9999. unless u have other ideas.

no 1 - the cng regos are not regged with road tax so the gassies cannot run here run there
no 2 - the demo got no rego. so dont expect it to run anyway anyhow
no 3 - the demo is a vso with a diff bodywork
no 4 - the demo will be in service earliest next year.
