Hope to see a new change for Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange

Hmm.. Currently, i think Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange is the small interchange with smallest no. of svc(with feeder svc, dun include terminals like sembawang road end, etc).. Since BPJ is well linked to other parts of the island thru BKE & Upper Bukit Timah Road, why not SMRT introduce more trunk svc to serve other parts of island like Toa Payoh, Sengkang & Pasir Ris and more feeder svc to serve residents living in Segar Road/Senja Road/Jelapang Road so that it will bring more convience to residents living in BPJ, and at the same time try to expand Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange so that more buses can come in and park at the bus park, especially during peak hours where some bendy buses coming in to the interchange have to wait for a bendy bus tat is parked to move away in order to fit inside the parking lots available.. Maybe say make the interchange a underground one so tat they can make use of more space underground and also to create a link pathway underground to BP LRT station & Bt Panjang Plaza..
So what's your point of view first b4 i really go and e-mail the SMRT Buses to suggest it? I'll like to hear what's on your mind regarding this issue, especially for those who also living in BPJ area as mi.

Write to LTA also, since LTA is responsible for the building of BI right?
BPJ need a bus to go to SKG. For instance:
BNL or BBT
BPJ BKE Mandai Rd Upp Thomson Rd AMK HGN SKG
People from SKG, AMK and HGN can get an alternative to NP/SIM/SP besides 74. Maybe 180 can be extended, since 180 only ply between BPJ and BNL, other routes such as 75 and 176 are too long to be extended.
New feeder service, maybe don't call along Bukit Panjang Rd, but in call along Senja Rd (West Spring Sec Sch and Zhenghua Sec Sch, these 2 schools are some distance away from LRT ) and loop at Segar Rd before heading back to BPJ BI. However, these areas are not fully developed yet, ridership might not enough.
184 and 75 are duplicating in BPJ. Bukit Panjang Rd and Petir Rd are withing walking distances. 184 should be amended to as followed: Upper Bukit Timah Rd -> Cashew Rd -> Petir Rd -> Pending Rd -> Fajar Rd -> Jelapang Rd -> Bukit Panjang Ring Rd -> Jelebu Rd -> BPJ BI
Another suggestion for 184 is as followed: Pending Rd -> Petir Rd -> Dairy Farm Rd -> Upper Bukit Timah, another possible amendment when Petir Rd is extended to Dairy Farm Rd, so that 921 can be amended, and 184 will not be duplicating with 75 in BPJ.
921 maybe can be withdrawn, or amended to serve people in Segar and Senja areas. Since BPJ BI already have 75 to serve Petir Rd. Nearby Jelebu Rd also have 963, 960 and 171 to serve Petir Rd. -
Is there a need for a service to be introduced from Bukit Panjang to Sengkang? Care to justify the need?

Don't forget that the MRT comes first in public transport. That's what all these transport companies want us to do: take the MRT. Buses are secondary.
Even so, I still think that a service from BP to Sengkang is still redundant. With a "direct" rail connection there, why bother having us take a bus? -

Before I see more and more childish comments, please think why SMRT Buses are not having new buses or services?
1. None of the buses are reaching the 17 year limit.
2. Do you think they have enough spaces for more buses? The parking lots at 3 depots and 2 interchanges are already exhausting. Where do you expect the new buses to park and to be maintained? If little are bought, there will be complaints of "not enough bus of the same model" and too many bought, words like "Too many of same model makes things boring (Think Mercedes and Volvo)" will be heard. It's hard to please everyone.
3. As much as many of us doesn't like the UDs, it's one of the way to utilise the existing resources. Just make do with it.
4. Companies have their own limitations and you can't expect everything to go your way. You need time to make changes. Rome is not built in one day.

hmmm i prefer 920 and 921 merge like one of the intra- town svcs... so tt u can they can combine the buses or even best bendy( but in petir there iz a stretch of road tt requires 921 to u turn....so dunno can use bendy) and mayb we can see the originals: TIB 541m, TIB 725a, TIB 967t and TIB 637(wdls) so tt we can stop seeing the UD cameos...

Er.. is TIB638T.. TIB637X if i'm not wrong, it's the scania bus with the Power 98 ad on the both sides and the Epson ad on the back. If the two services merge, frequency will be longer due to low load on service 921. They will sure start to wonder why the svc's frequency is getting longer and longer. If really like that then i rather svc 920 don't merge with svc 921. Let svc 920 have 3 buses as usual. -

I have ever suggested to SBST to extend Svc 161 to CCK via BKE & KJE. But they replied that it's not possible to pass through 2 TIBS-controlled int/areas as stated in the LTA code or somrthing like that.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Ok. Why not extend 161?
