Depends on whether the bus service is for public bus services, factory bus, CBD type express service, or tourist bus, or school bus?
What's the focus?

Unlike tourist coaches where the travelling time is in the hours, which makes a comfortable journey highly valued, public transit is relatively short.
I believe commuters will only pay a premium for a shorter travelling time. If SMRT trains can get away with cushionless side facing seats, lesser seats, and even worse.. no drivers on the LRT, then.. it goes to show.. such frills on transport modes are not valued.
Even the existing Express Service buses which charges a premium, are using the same buses as the any other trunk service. Given the current regulatory environment, itÂ’s unlikely that such frills will result in more spending by the commuter.
But if I have to answer the original question.. I would say.. a smaller bus and the guarantee of a seat. A small bus means lesser passengers which means lesser stops, which means a shorter travelling time. Small buses also tend to zip around easier, can take advantage of opportunities to chiong!
