  I'm not saying that I 'think' the bus in question was actually SBS 9888Y and not SBS 9810X, but rather I was stating that apart from SBS 9810X, SBS 9888Y is the only other VSO with EDS. Please refer to the posting below...

  TIB939A is UMW Lance right? How come in front of the bus got one Mecerdes logo?

  9810X has orange EDS, while 9888Y has green EDS, so, it is possible to tell them apart.

  FYI, 939A had an accident quite some time ago, and the front was changed to a Hispano front like those you see on the Hispano MB0405s. Maybe since AMKDEP didn't have any spare parts for Lance bodies. Dunno which fella decided to place a Mercedes badge on a Lance bus...

  Besides, the words displayed on the green EDS SBS 9888 Y is bigger than the words displayed on the orange EDS SBS 9810 X.
  I have a question to ask. I just like to ask why is there only two VSOs with EDS instead of the whole fleet of VSOs with EDS. Is it because of cost or is it because of uniqueness or any other reasons?

  Eh, i tink i have created a commotion, wat i m tryin to say was tt the bus spotted @ Tampines is MOST probably SBS9810X sv76, there's another bus w EDS is SBS9888Y, my apologies... SBS9810X has a black colored Bumper... v distinctive...

  I think, EDS is a trademark of SMRT. Consider the time when the lances first appeared. They had blue DS, but sometime later, all had EDS. EDS only appears on special buses, I guess, as 997-999, 2888, 1688, tridents have them. As for expenses, I think, in the long run, EDS is better. Safe from itchy fingures, dun have to display new DS everytime got route changes.

  The accident happen in 1999 on Service 103.
