I took on 852 just now. Maybe got 2 altogether, one in 851, one in 852.Originally posted by iveco:There is one UMW lance with a Hispano grille. It is on 851.
One note is that, the bus front bumper is in black colour, instead of the usual purple one. I saw this bus a few times along amk ave 3 liao.Originally posted by Superbus:Think SBS 9888Y.
I'm not saying that I 'think' the bus in question was actually SBS 9888Y and not SBS 9810X, but rather I was stating that apart from SBS 9810X, SBS 9888Y is the only other VSO with EDS. Please refer to the posting below...Originally posted by PJ_Quek:One note is that, the bus front bumper is in black colour, instead of the usual purple one. 9810X has orange EDS, while 9888Y has green EDS, so, it is possible to tell them apart.Originally posted by PJ_Quek:Some VSO have EDS while some don't have, is it true? I saw on sv 76 VSO with EDS today.
TIB939A is UMW Lance right? How come in front of the bus got one Mecerdes logo?

FYI, 939A had an accident quite some time ago, and the front was changed to a Hispano front like those you see on the Hispano MB0405s. Maybe since AMKDEP didn't have any spare parts for Lance bodies. Dunno which fella decided to place a Mercedes badge on a Lance bus...Originally posted by PJ_Quek:TIB939A is UMW Lance right? How come in front of the bus got one Mecerdes logo?
Besides, the words displayed on the green EDS SBS 9888 Y is bigger than the words displayed on the orange EDS SBS 9810 X.Originally posted by SBS3624G:9810X has orange EDS, while 9888Y has green EDS, so, it is possible to tell them apart.

Eh, i tink i have created a commotion, wat i m tryin to say was tt the bus spotted @ Tampines is MOST probably SBS9810X sv76, there's another bus w EDS is SBS9888Y, my apologies... SBS9810X has a black colored Bumper... v distinctive...Originally posted by Acx1688:As far as i noe, only VSO tt has EDS is sv76 SBS9810X [correct me if i m wrong]
SBS 9810X also has Sv. 28 and Sv. 88 desto programmed.Originally posted by sbs&tibs:Go up the bus and switch it on.
BTW, AMDEP prepared 72's EDS on 9810X.
I think, EDS is a trademark of SMRT. Consider the time when the lances first appeared. They had blue DS, but sometime later, all had EDS. EDS only appears on special buses, I guess, as 997-999, 2888, 1688, tridents have them. As for expenses, I think, in the long run, EDS is better. Safe from itchy fingures, dun have to display new DS everytime got route changes.Originally posted by tanjun:Besides, the words displayed on the green EDS SBS 9888 Y is bigger than the words displayed on the orange EDS SBS 9810 X.
I have a question to ask. I just like to ask why is there only two VSOs with EDS instead of the whole fleet of VSOs with EDS. Is it because of cost or is it because of uniqueness or any other reasons?
