expect the normal buses. for e.g. CT8 shld be using AMDEP buses so you'll see O.405's, and so on.
time for you to do some back reading, my bro.Originally posted by SBS3624G:181, never heard bf. Tell me more about it.
BTW, what route changes is 325 receiving?

The operation timing suggests the use of split shift buses, that would otherwise sit idle in the bus depots during off peak hours.Originally posted by SBS3624G:What spare buses are available for the fleets?
most probably no DD's except perhaps on the eve of CNY.Originally posted by Acx1688:So i think there will be no DDs for these services?
Is there any write out on the journey times?
A bit funee:
Ang Mo Kio has sv166 to Chinatown
Bedok has sv2, sv33, sv197 to Chinatown
Clementi has sv147, sv166 to Chinatown
If it takes an hour or so, it is almost the same as the trunk services cept tt there are fewer stops...
As of today, SBST has these buses (a/c only) as spares:Originally posted by SBS3624G:What spare buses are available for the fleets?
Let get them to improve the bus services in Sembawang and Choa Chu kang! I remember Yew tee only had one bus service going round the estates. And residents are expeccted to travel to any parts in Singapore by MRT.Originally posted by ^tamago^:dunno. It may be necessary to clarify that spare buses do not mean physical buses sitting idle waiting for deployment. Spare buses are used to cover for regular buses that have to go in for maintenance.Originally posted by ^tamago^:As of today, SBST has these buses (a/c only) as spares:

Sorry, but these 338 buses are truely spare buses with no perm services. All TQ/S shift (wat you call wkend or peak hr buses) have their perm services with the perm stickers and they are the ones who lie in the depot waiting for deployment during special hours. As long as they have a perm service (duties A/P or T/S), they are no included in this 338.Originally posted by yoongf:It may be necessary to clarify that spare buses do not mean physical buses sitting idle waiting for deployment. There are large number of buses that operate on peak hours only. These buses do sit idle during off peak hours. It's thus makes biz sense to squeeze out as much revenue from such buses since depreciation and maintenance are sunk costs.
But driver salaries is another thing altogether.
Just to clarify....9612B belongs to BB Dep not HG Dep rite?Originally posted by ^tamago^:One good example is 9612B of 74. It is a perm on 74 (BBDEP), but you'll only see it come out on Saturdays & Sundays. For the other times, 9612B does not come out at all! This is because HGDEP usually can make use of the SP rather than touch 9612B.

Citybuzz different. I don't expect it to live long.Originally posted by leeJZ:5 of BNDEP's VSOs hibernate waiting to be called up for Citybuzz duty, I've seen all of them in there at one time, the last time they were used for normal svcs was on Tuesday (9801 on 69 / 9803 on 196).
SBS 9612 B appeared on 74 during the school holidays, afaik it is the one with some fashion ad?
The answer can only be.... the depot has excess buses, as you can see from SBST "playing around" now.Originally posted by yoongf:Just want to clarify on the spare buses thing.
LetÂ’s say the depot has 5 buses, A,B,C,D,E. and the depot has 4 duties to fill, 1,2,3,4.
By default, the perm buses would be A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4 and E is kept as spare bus.
However, when A goes in for maintenance, E takes over A duty, and when B goes in for maintenance, E takes over B duty.
My point is that it is unlikely that E will be seen sitting in the depot waiting for deployment as maintenance is a regularly scheduled event.
If a bus is seen sitting in a depot for a long period, likely is.. kaput due to lack of spares, reserved for special event, or the workshop is so kilat Â… service all buses during the night shift. AlternativelyÂ… that depot has excess buses.

Dear Friends,
Going for your festive shopping in Chinatown? If you're traveling from Ang Mo Kio, Bedok or Clementi, you're in luck!
On 21 Jan 2005 (Friday, public holiday), SBS Transit will launch three new services from Ang Mo Kio (CT 8 ), Bedok (CT 18 ) and Clementi (CT 28 ) to Chinatown. It is called Chinatown Direct as reported in Lianhe Zaobao ( http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/ct.asp ). These 3 services will bring you to Chinatown in about half an hour's time as they travel along the expressways.
As a launch promotion, SBST is giving a 1-for-1 free ride in the month of Jan'05. In addition, SBST is giving away Free "ba kwa" (BBQ sliced meat) to alighting customers of CT (8, 18, 28 ) services at the bus stop outside CK Departmental store, New Bridge Centre along New Bridge Rd this Friday (21 Jan) from 10.30am to 1.00pm, while stock lasts.
As the information on the Free "ba kwa" is unlikely to be released to the press, you may want to be the first to get it!
Click the link below for more details about these services.

Yew Tee has only Intratown 307 travelling at the western side of YT & Feeder 302 travels at the Eastern Yew Tee. btw, one of the reasons SMRT don't introduce new services at Yew Tee is because that Yew Tee has no main roads which lead to the other parts of Singapore.Originally posted by iamgoondu:Let get them to improve the bus services in Sembawang and Choa Chu kang! yew tee, choa chu kang, sembawang or woodland or jurong west residents are more in need of such services than residents in clementi.
ptc should allow fair competition between sbst and smrt. let the bus companies serve where the real needs are. foget about the boundary, that the north and north-west should be covered by smrt.
