Why SJE bus have SH plate on it?

"SH" is reserved for public buses and taxis. SJE is not the only one to use them. Last time the Airbus and the Sentosa buses also used them. I will like to ask why sometimes once the drivers activates the handbrake when it stops, they will just step hard on the gas pedal. Kind of unpleasant if this takes place on a noisy bus especially Duple MB0405s when seating at the rear, so noisy!!! Is it a fuel saving measure? Im really puzzled. Or its really nothing much?

The driver does that because the pressure in the air reservoir is low. By revving the engine, it will drive the air compresser to build up pressure in the reservoir. The air is supplied to many components of the bus such as the suspension, the doors and, most importantly, the brakes. Buses run on air brakes. Contrary to popular belief, in an air brake system, the air is used to release the brakes. If there isn't enough pressure in the brake cylinder, the bus will be moving with its brakes applied causing serious wear to the brake drum. In some cases, the bus couldn't move at all.

Service M2 became Service 92 (or the other way round)
But what were the routes of service M3 and M4??

M1 and M2 (together with 16E) were re-numbered 92, 42 and 36 in December 1997.
