huh ?? your question is very confusing.. anyway, the Freq between the 1st bus of 107X and the last bus of 107 is like just 18mins.. no needa wait 1 hr mahx.. and... if someone wans to go back to HGN from Beach rd, there wont be anyone who is so stupid to ride a big round at marina center. and, if you board the last bus, most of the time, the driver will kinda infom the passengers that this is the last bus to Shenton Way same goes to the first bus of 107X.. He will infrom passengers that he is NOT going to Shenton Way but Marina Center instead...Originally posted by 105090:MAJJOR Question!!
Service 107 weekdays schedule:
Last bus from HG is 1930
Last bus from Shenton Way is 1930
BUT first 107X from HG to marina is 1948.
means:
last 107 bus to reach Beach road (towards HG)is about 1945. then pax who is boarding at say beach road unlucky miss the last 107 bus has to wait for the first 107X bus to come to marina centre and loop back towards HG, then he can board back towards HG?
like that means wait one hour in between.
can anyone clarify?
i understand wat u mean, but fret not, such things will never happen.Originally posted by 105090:MAJJOR Question!!

Alot of services have downroutes. For example S30 has trips starting from HarbourFront towards Boon Lay.Originally posted by 105090:does this practice applies to other services? service 3 is an example i think. what about services 30, 51?
most of the trunk services have such practice, either downroute or shortworking trips. even some feeders do so too.Originally posted by 105090:does this practice applies to other services? service 3 is an example i think. what about services 30, 51?
Before that (until the 90s), there was a traffic lights junction at the junction of ECP and Fort Rd, before Tanjong Rhu flyover came to exists.Originally posted by Townlink 268:ooo.. yeah. i remembered 81 plied old tamp road. there was a traffic junction at old tamp. road/ elias road and TPE!! it was the sole traffic light in all the expressways.
Most of the air con outlets that were missing were replaced by the new "eyeballs" type of air con outlets.Originally posted by SBS9828X:nope the aircon outlet i mean as most of them at the back of DDs have been broke open
So how bout SD?
Hmm i hate those even if there are balls to roll, the person who sits next to the aisle will never and i repeat NEVER gets the air-conOriginally posted by tranquilice:Most of the air con outlets that were missing were replaced by the new "eyeballs" type of air con outlets.
Did you noticed that many of the air con outlets on the Habit bendies have been vandalised with? There is a roller beside the oulets that is used to switch on or off the oulets and to adjust the direction the air con is blowing to, but now it serves no purpose.
Originally posted by SBS9828X:most have them on the roof.. except maybe SMRTB O.405 OAC's which have theirs undercarriage.

Back to the topic... so wer? SBS buses and some other buses that have air-con units on the roof and under-floor ones?
but the additional suffix as mentioned above (107X) do not appear of the buses destination boards, hence is confusing for passengers...Originally posted by ^tamago^:i understand wat u mean, but fret not, such things will never happen.
let's see:
empty 107X (hougang) will start from raffles blvd/pan pacific hotel from 7.55pm onwards.
tis first 107X bus will reach beach rd/opp the gateway at 8.02pm; the last 107 bus will reach tis bus stop at 7.50pm. so pax at beach rd need not worry.
the arrangement continues until the first 107X full-route bus from hougang reaches pan pacific hotel at 8.35pm.
so for 40 minutes, there will be "downroute" 107X that start mid-way trips from pan pacific hotel.
the buses that reach shenton way after 7.30pm either goes to pan pacific hotel to do "downroute", head back to hougang for a full-route 107X trip or head back to hgdep cos their T shift has ended.
fyi, the last 107 bus terminates at shenton way ter at 8.41pm.

Why doesn't SBST & SMRTB use additional suffixes for services plying alternative routes (follow svc 700) such as svc 70, 107, 853, 925, 961, etc?? At least it wouldn't be confusing and misleading, esp when passengers forgot at the moment that it's plying an alternative route?

Sometimes wrong info may be shown due to mistakes/forgetfulness by the BCs/SCs. For example if a service 60 BC forgets to flip over the front windscreen desto at Bedok interchange, then passengers at the branch of Bedok Reservoir Rd may board the wrong bus.Originally posted by Acx1688:For SBST buses, they have side destination panels which indicates where the bus loops or terminates...
For SMRT buses, they have the front mounted Electronic Display System that flashes the major roads the svc passes.
However when in doubt, please do ask the Bus/Service Captain...
yeah. this applies to 73, 136, 315, 317, and the st michael's svcs. i once took 315 "IN", but at serangoon gardens, the driver forgot to turn "OUT" back to "IN".. imagine the confusion..Originally posted by tranquilice:Sometimes wrong info may be shown due to mistakes/forgetfulness by the BCs/SCs. Actually for most shenton way/ marina centre services, passenger loads for the last few buses will be near zero (for pax alighting at shenton way). Also, side destos and last bus arrival/ departure times are displayed in bus stops as well
at least, for the former Jln Kayu bus terminal bus-stops (svc 103, 86, 858, 168 , buses that travel in different directions will call at the 2 separate bus-stops, hence causing less confusion. Furthermore, signs are displayed at the bus-stops to inform passengers which direction the buses are travelling to. Hence, passengers can verify with the BC if the onboard destination sign contradicts the bus-stop.Originally posted by 105090:yeah. this applies to 73, 136, 315, 317, and the st michael's svcs. i once took 315 "IN", but at serangoon gardens, the driver forgot to turn "OUT" back to "IN".. imagine the confusion..

The SBS M-B O 405 are naturally aspirated OM 447h you're correct to here.
The TIBS M-B O 405 & O 405 G & SBS O 405 G are all turbocharged with intercooling i.e. OM 447 hLA, where the 'A' means turbocharged, 'L' means with intercooler, 'h' means cylinders are horizontally opposed like boxer-style engine.
The Cummins engine used in (later) Leyland Olympians & Volvo & Scania engines tend to be turbocharged with intercooling.

When are the take over dates for 61, 67, 106, 172, 173, 175, 188, 189, 190 from SBS to TIBS?
106 is 25th Dec 2000 i think.
The handover date for Svc 67, 172, 175 & 188 was Boxing Day 1999. On the same day, the BP-LRT system was officially opened.Originally posted by supremebull:IIRC, handover date for 67 was 26th October 2000, not November 99. dunno. the dates were given from the newspaper cutting in Jul '99, so i believe tat the "November" given then is an estimate.Originally posted by supremebull:IIRC, handover date for 67 was 26th October 2000, not November 99. Are there any more SBST Merc O405s (except training buses) with blue cushion on grey seats?Originally posted by 105090:Are there any more NAC mercedes 0405 left unconverted?
and are there also any 0405s OAC or CAC, those with NO seats being plucked out from the centre of the bus? i know theres a sv268 with all seats unplucked tho.
and finally, what are the buses, whose seats were not upgraded?( except training buses). eg. for those mk3s, their original seats were blue, not the pink. same as the 0405 with blue cushionand grey seats.
