853 travels to and fro between Yishun and Geylang from Monday to Saturday.
853C travels to and fro between Yishun and Upper East Coast on Sunday and Public Holidays.
Why don't 853 travels to and fro Yishun and Upper East Coast everyday? -
Even on Weekends, the Load isnt that good actually.. on Weekdays, Most of the pax take 853 between Yishun and Serangoon only.. after that not many people.. So.. it makes sense to Stop at geylang Lor 1 rather than Upp East Coast... another reason might be that there isnt enough Buses in SMRT...

Do note that there's sv13 which runs a quite similar route to that of sv853 (sundays,PHs) from Kallang MRT to Paya Lebar and from Marine PArade Rd to before Siglap Rd then Upp East Coast Rd to Ter

Eh not quite so, except along AMK Ave 8, 1. parts of Upp serangoon Rd, Tanjong Katong Rd, MArine Parade Rd, there's duplication. Otherwise sv13 is more the alternativeOriginally posted by sBs_boy:Hmmm.. 135 route is ABOUT the same as 853...
