SERVICE 54 NEEDS DDs

service 54 really needs DDs as it is really getting heavy loads

Are you sure? Would you like to list down the timings and when are the bus-stops where passengers can board?

Coz what i c for sv54 in the city, the ridership is not tt high

not really heavy load when it passes Bishan... perhaps during rush hour in the morning and evening... got too much kids...

it gets very pack from 7.00am to 12.00pm from BISHAN INT TO NBR TER and4.30pm to11.30pm everyday from NBR TER TO BISHAN INT. i think sbst shoud deploy DDs during this time. svc 54 with its current fleet and frequency is still quite ok... u hardly get bursting buses.... besides... 54's load is quite sectorised... BIS to N2, BIS to Scotts Road... the load actually clears up after river valley.
and where are u going to get the DDs for 54? -

5454, i have to totally disagree with you. Did you put the timings because it's the morning or evening peak period? HAve u actually taken the bus between these periods of time? i understand the morning peak around Bishan, Orchard Area. But evenings? NBR to Bishan? Nahz.. 54 dont really need DDs on them.. Frequency consider okay for this Service le.. The load.. nt that bad.. What more.. River Valley Rd.. quite small for DDs.. another reason is that.. SHORTAGE of DDs...

ok i agree with no DDs at least have some volvo buses on 54 i am sick of seeing 0405 buses on 54

Not me , I stay in the east. I hope to see all the scanias disappear from BNdepot. But likely to be swapped over to HGDEP during the next round of transfers as 100 still has about 5-6 Merz left. -
For me, I have no preference for the type of buses deployed. However, for some Volvo Mark IV Striders, screeching sounds can be heard when the bus starts to acclerate and the sounds from the engines can get very loud when the bus accelerates.

i think mk4 Dm3500 can speed very well and the buses are comfortable and the air- con is good to

Ok to each and his own . I do agree that the mercedes buses can speed better then the volvo , but the comfort on the mark 4 buses are better. Every bus has it's pros and cons, let's respect each other's opinions.

I don't mind, I live in the east, take sv 38 most of the time and the fleet is majority scanias with 3 MK3s. What I want is Mercz and DDs on 38. A good compromise would be for 162 DM3500s to cameo on 54, since 54 permers often cameo on 162 too. Haha.
