Regarding the statement abt being SBST or SMRT fans here, Please no flaming. Every1 is entitled to his/her own view.
As to the statement abt NEL and SMRT services, Well it is a fact that NEL trains run at faster frequencies than SMRT trains nowadays.
As to the pt abt sv190 hving less Bendies, unless 1 goes down and goes a physical check, the statement will always remain a objective statement. -

i guess all these arguments here boilt down to one thing:
Passengers are not satisfied of the service becos they have to stand throughout the bloody journey. be it from CCK to orchards or bt panjang to orchard.
wat i noticed previously DD buses by SBST has more seats as compared with the bendy 190
As the utility of passengers is measured by how comfort is the overall ride, SBST definitely has more seating capacity than bendy. that's why SBST is scoring pts here.
As a passenger, u dunt really care how many DD or bendy the company deployed, as long there is a seat for me in the ride is considered satisfaction, good service. vice versa: if i have to stand the ride every bloody morning to work & every evening back home: that's is a bad service!!!!
Hope the top management of SMRT can consider about it:
SBST is one of the largest transport provider in the world. I think they have a very good reason of not importing bendy buses to Singapore.

Not only that, IF u notice the numbers, there is a shortfall of about 600+ capacity per day?
So not surprising that people make a lot of noise. Especially when you cant board the bus. I ever had to wait for 3 190 before I could board at Grange Road because the buses were just too full. Same thing for sv963. So not surprising that people complain. Any 1 from SMRT here should take note of this. -

Nope, I am NOT an SBST fan, though I agree that 900 is better than others, I tell you it is no where close to those of SBST svcs. Svc 900 has one of the best frequencies, near to that of 911, 913 and trunks like 190.

So, now I have sth to complain about now. Yesterday, I went to Sembawang Rd. I started my way home at 2100. I waited and waited...... and waited for 171. But it never appeared. After 20min, I gave up, I went over the other side, and waited and waited for 800. Aft 5 min, 171 appeared at the other side. I was damn pissed off. But nothing could be done. 800 arrived only 15min later. And I reached home at 2300. Is this usual for SMRT, the freq. is really lousy!

The authorities monitor the operators with one of the criteria based on valid public complaints. For every instance of undercapacity, just shoot 1 complaint.
Imagine.. if this campaign is consistent .... somebody at that company will get seriously nervous. While financially it's not going to hurt them, some manager's performance indicator is going to take a beating. That's how to get things done in Sg. Alternatively.. shoot complaints to PTC... hoping that the next audit they do.. they will select that service to monitor! -
ANyone know why there isn't any bus audit for the past year or two?
do PTC only audit when citizen makes noise about the fare hike.

Cant Beat my record though, once waited for 45 minutes for sv963 for my 10 minute bus ride home from NUH.
Anyway, I have called them up to reflect on all the posts listed..They said they will get back to me..So let's see..

SMRT has BIG FLEET MANAGEMENT Problem!
tt day i wuz @ Yishun Ave 2 bs. Saw 2 almos EMPTY bendies, sv811 & sv811E. Wat the heck? hw can they have 2 empty bendies @ the same time? esp 4 feeder svc? y dun they juz amend such tt during peak hours. Feeder Bendies stop at interchange for service captain swop instead of letting buses do layover? then when my sv851 came, it was a normal CAC MB0405 & ev1 has to squeeze on board. Wat are the fleet managers doing? ZzZz or waiting to be sacked?SMRT corporation needs to wake up & shake up their whole management! -

Every service has different demends on different part of the route. Service 811 has it's demands at the Yishun Industrial Park area and NOT Yishun Central area. Last time I had similar thoughts that 811 has no demand until I tried out the route myself.
Service 811 has the number of Bendies reduced after 859 was transferred to AMDEP. -
Please allow SBST to compete on 190. SBST definitely has more resources. Looking at Chinatown direcct, fast forward, city buzz, park direct..., SBST definitely has more initiatives and resources to try new routes.
Remember when SMRT was asked to take over NEL, perhaps we should ask SBST to take over SMRTBuses instead.
Even MP for Zhenghua Division wishes that his residents are able to enjoy better bus services.
