how? do they have a forum or something?Originally posted by Acx1688:As i said, bring it to NEW paper's attention & they will blow it up for u...
It is surprising that Yew Tee residents can bear with 1 shuttle service for so many years. If Bukit Batok residents needs 2 trains transfer to go to Orchard, Yew Tee residents may need 3 transfers (2 trains and 1 bus). In factt Yew Tee residents may need at least 2 transfer to many parts of Singapore.Originally posted by cck_190:hmm...apperantly one of the yew tee residents is me....and the problem is getting worse. cck smrt buses is not doing good at managing the frequency.
I agree with you on letting sbst compete with smrt on 190, but, how can we alert this matter to the general public? by stforums? or by what?![]()
They will get in touch with you if they found your grudges worth reporting.Originally posted by cck_190:how? do they have a forum or something?
EH?! Steve Chia NCMP[Non Constituency Member of Parliament] not NMP[Nominated MP] there's a vast difference. BTW NCMP carries little weight. Newpaper will run exclusive for u... Try them... u juz nd to provide them with a few examples & highlight tt with this kind of standard, SMRT still plan to increase fares?Originally posted by iamgoondu:They will get in touch with you if they found your grudges worth reporting.
However you should get in touch with your MP and community leaders first, who knows they may already have a task force looking into better bus services in CCK/YT.
How's about Steve Chia, the NMP from CCK? He may be able to help too.
MP for my constituency is Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister of Transport...not Steve ChiaOriginally posted by Acx1688:EH?! MP and NMP and NCMP are not the same. An MP (not minister) receives $11k/month for allowances. A NMP earns $1.8K/month for allowances. NCMP?Originally posted by cck_190:MP for my constituency is Mr Yeo Cheow Tong, Minister of Transport...not Steve Chia

OK, so you are in Hong Kah GRC and not CCK SMC.
Someone in Braddell commented that there is no direct bus between Braddell and Marine Parade, yet they are in the same GRC.
Do you have direct bus services to Bukit Batok?
Is it a new portfolio for Yeo Cheow Tong? Earlier I still thought he is holding the health portfolio and MBT is holding the transport portfolio.
Perhaps give him some time to improve the bus services in the western part of Singapore. And hope that he is not errecting more ERP gantries in the west too.
No, we do not have direct bus to bt batok. We have to take 307/302 to cck int and transfer to 188 or 985. BB West is 188, BB North is 985.Originally posted by iamgoondu:MP and NMP and NCMP are not the same. An MP (not minister) receives $11k/month for allowances. A NMP earns $1.8K/month for allowances. If SBST is taking CCK, you would probably have buses to Kranji now. The charm of the rural singapore, poultry farms, fish farm... had drawn more people to kranji than to labrador park during weekend.Originally posted by cck_190:No, we do not have direct bus to bt batok. To woodlands, have to take 307/302 to int and transfer to 925 which goes roun Kranji Industrial Area.
To BP, we transfer to int take lrt,975 or 190(pass by) to BP int
To Tampines, have to transfer at int and take a ridiculously long service 67 which pass through Bt timah.
To Jurong, transfer at CCK int and take 172. Travels quite far. One thing all of them have in common is...bad frequency![]()
Firstly, why do you want direct buses to every part of Singapore? There is the MRT as the backbone of the transport system. The bus network is just to fill up gaps in the MRT network where it is faster to take a bus than the MRT (e.g 168, 969, 965, 161)Originally posted by cck_190:No, we do not have direct bus to bt batok. You guys have trains and have little need for buses. My cousin lives in Blk 609, CCK St 62 and relies heavily on trains to get around. He frequently consults me about bus services as he is clueless about them.Originally posted by cck_190:No, we do not have direct bus to bt batok. The argument here is if Yew Tee or CCK is managed by SBST, would YT and CCK residents be able to enjoy better and more bus services.Originally posted by iveco:You guys have trains and have little need for buses. Perhaps we could have SMRT operating only train services (NEL as well). And SBST operting only bus services (SMRTbus as well).Originally posted by supremebull:Firstly, why do you want direct buses to every part of Singapore? You are quite right in saying that without SMRT Trains and SBST NEL, it would be alright for the two companies to complement each other. Like the days before the NEL was built.Originally posted by iamgoondu:I am not a resident in YT or CCK, thus I am not able to justify the need of more buses in that area.
However my recent trip has found out that CCK stadium in YT is served by 1 bus service, or rather the whole of YT is accessible only by 1 shuttle bus service.
Since the taking over of BB and CCK from SBST, how many new bus services TIBS or SMRT has come out with with? Other than those previously owned bus services by SBST, TIBS/SMRT has not come out with many new services.
I did post the same question to TIBS, and was told that it was not true. They had come with SMRT970. Of course I am quick to rebut them that SMRT970 was to compensate the withdrawal of TIBS5 which has caused many unhapiness then.
Looking at Punggol and Seng Kang, changes in bus routes are more dynamic and new services are still being introduced despite the running of NEL.
It is not true that the SMRT train is everything, it's true that all parts of Singapore is accessible by SMRT train, however it may not be the quickest and most comfortable rides. If that's so, why is there still a need for SBST to come out City Buzz, Chinatown rides, Park Rides and Fast Forward?
Let's don't argue on the viability of these new initiatives. Do you think CCK is more indeed of Chinatown Rides than Clementi? Perhaps SMRT190her can have some branches to serve residents in YT, and perhaps Fast Forward (by SMRT) services for other services plying in CCK.
Without the SMRT trains or NEL, it is alright to have 2 bus companies to complement each other. Where both bus companies have their own turf to work on.
However with SMRT trains and NEL, and with SMRT trains covers all parts of Singapore, it is logical that SMRT would provide minimal bus services to complement her train services. And for those staying in the North-West, they are penalised for minimal bus services for their bus operator own the train services as well!
Why are there still so many bus services in Boon Lay? Despite it's a terminal SMRT train station? Do we still need those SBST bus services (other than Jurong Industrial Bus Services), if SMRT trains can access to all parts of Singapore?
I pity especially those staying in YT and Sembawang, as long as SMRT still the only bus operator in their area, they could only expect minimal bus services. As for those in BB and Woodlands, they may count themselves lucky for SBST had earlier well developed the bus networks in those areas.
So it will be a hard job for Mr Gan (Mp for Zhenghua) to improve the bus services in BP. Unless bus services is a public social service and unless bus companies are not public listed companies, his chance of getting SMRT to implement more bus services is slim. Perhaps he should try getting SBST to ply new routes into (and not terminating) his estates.
Unless there is real competition between bus companies, it may not be easy to have better bus services.
there is 13 from braddell rd but it takes 40-45min to get to marine paradeOriginally posted by iamgoondu:Someone in Braddell commented that there is no direct bus between Braddell and Marine Parade, yet they are in the same GRC.

Can share with us how is your proposed route like?Originally posted by SBS9611D:Why can't SMRT amend the return route of 106 to be like the former 864? Can go Suntec but cannot go home one.

I think SMRT has no interest in the bus operations at all!
Just look at the no. of new services they intro. over the years.....
