The guy with a bino is the mascot for the Singapore Explorer. The bus stop with the mascot marks the stop for a particular place of interest. The Singapore Explorer was sort of a pass which allows tourists to enjoy rides on SBS buses. 198: Sims Pl - Withdrawn(?) Replaced by a new route towards Bukit Merah.
199: Nanyang Technological Institute - Service became 2 services, 179 and 199 respectively.
206: Lim Chu Kang - Withdrawn.
98 was made to loop at Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim (like 98A). Later integrated with 247 to form current route.
165 was amended to Clementi
184 was merged with 176 to form present 176 (Bt Panjang - Bt Merah)
188 still terminate at Jurong Bus Park, which was next to the demolished Jurong Interchange. Withdrawn in 1991.
198 was amended to Jurong East in 1991. In 1993, it was amended to its present route Boon Lay - Bt Merah. On the same day, 197 was amended to Jurong East.
179 was an entirely new service to cover the loss of 199 when the latter was amended to NIE.
When 206 was withdrawn, 172 was amended to Boon Lay while a new service 175 was introduced. -
Marine Parade Terminal was torn down to make way for Victoria School. Nw my sv16,55,76,135,155 Loop svc. sv196 to Bedok. sv13 to Upp East Coast

Hmm.. u can't really say tat.. It may seem useless but it seems very useful for me and all ppl living in Bt Panjang as tat svc is the only direct service tat passes thru Bugis area.. Compared to MRT's NS Line, svc 960 is much more faster and takes lesser time for us to reach bugis area.. Same logic applies for 171 where tat is the only direct svc tat goes to Yishun..Originally posted by cool_elf:All of these services had been withdrawn. 901, now 911.
902, now 912.
904,905, 906.
These 3 svcs were withdrawn due to low demand. 2 of them merged to form 913.
Also 900. Withdrawn due to same reason. But unlike those 3 which lasted only a few months, 900 was actually quite old. 900, 901, 902, 903, used to use the NAC Hinos, then they switched to MB0405s, those were the days when Woodlands was still quite ulu, hence the MB0405s often sped and your hair could have blown away on the NAC MB0405s! 904, 905, 906 used NAC MB0405s throughout their short lives.
911 was partially aircon, and it brings back good memories of myself on the occasional DAFs on 911. And then it was the cameo MB0405Gs that provided the excitment. -
