what do you think of SBST buying over SMRTB?

I remember reading a newspaper article last year where SBST proposed selling the NEL to SMRT and SMRT sell SMRTB to SBST. I don't like this idea. If SBST and SMRT works out such a plan then we can't compare SBST and SMRT anymore, there's only one sole public bus service provider. Somemore imagine all the same bus models running in Singapore in the future, then no need to do any bus spotting le. Currently having 2 service providers already not very competitive le. If there's only 1 service provider in Singapore, then our complains and suggestions all surely no use liao, because SBST will be the sole provider of bus service and will surely become stuck up. Wonder if that will ever happen since SMRTBuses looks like they are quite pathetic now(?). I remember that article also mentioned that SBST is not profiting from NEL and SMRTB does not profit much.
But i personally feels that LTA won't approve if there's such a proposal.
What do you guys think? -

No monopoly in the taxi sector at least still, though ComfortDelGro controls 80% of the taxis now... -

How long is long? According to SMRT's standards or your own personal standard whereby you will get frustrated after a certain amount of time?

No more monopoly, cannot tahan.
SBST change their driving attitude by driving a bit faster, not to slow down when seeing a green light at junctions. Don't turn into the bus stop when there is not people alighting or boarding.
SMRT increase bus, step by step, increase frequency eventually. -
