36 cannot get DDS nor bendys due in CGA. So I think SBST should improve service 36's frequency by adding more buses to the fleet.Originally posted by payne:Service 36 is always so crowded. I hope that sbstransit can solve this problem.![]()
If u din noe, sv36 has short working trips to the city. Although sv36A indicated on the plate says tt it starts at 2300hrs. I have seen many a time sv36A during operating hours especially on Sats, School Hols. In addition , sv36 is known to ret to CGA using Scotts, Steven Rd to get to PIE...Originally posted by payne:i mean if the bus stucks in a traffic jam. That reminds me of the old 149.Originally posted by leeJZ:31 + 36 = Toa Payoh - Airport
when did you see that... i dare say 123 has mid to high demand from BMR to BPM down route all day. i am a daily user of this svcOriginally posted by payne:Service 36 amd 123 should have merged. This is because service 123 has very low demand and hard to see one on the road. This can benefit more people.
How to merge? What's the route like?Originally posted by payne:Service 36 amd 123 should have merged. This is because service 123 has very low demand and hard to see one on the road. This can benefit more people.
The present route of 123 is quite absurd. Bt Purmei is just a stone's throw away from BMR central and there is Feeder 275. Anyway, HBF MRT is closer to Bt Purmei than TBR MRT, so this estate is better served by HBF routes like 855.Originally posted by SBST390:when did you see that... i dare say 123 has mid to high demand from BMR to BPM down route all day. i am a daily user of this svc
Let Svc 36 start from BMR Int and follow route of 123 towards Orchard Rd. I suggested this to SBST lasat year. In addition, I thought 123 could be amencded to operate from St Mike's and loop at Bt Purmei via Balestier Rd, Lavender St, Beach Rd (Golden Mile), Stamford Rd, Penang Rd and normal route to Bt Purmei. The NEL rationalisation only made Golden Mile area more isolated following the removal of 82 from the CBD.Originally posted by tranquilice:How to merge? What's the route like?
How about let service 123 starts from Bt Merah interchange, follows ex-service 605 route to Tiong Bahru MRT, then follows current route and loop at Tomlinson Rd? The Bt Merah - Orchard sector via Queensway and Holland Rd can be replaced by another service.Originally posted by iveco:Let Svc 36 start from BMR Int and follow route of 123 towards Orchard Rd. Can use Suntec, need not Nicoll HighwayOriginally posted by sbs&tibs:I never say it is necessary to duplicate 16.

Sv 36 frequency OK already... Only just that, it may have to breef up Sat evening's frequency. Not just 36, but mainly all the Orchard svs like 7, 14Originally posted by sbs&tibs:36 cannot get DDS nor bendys due in CGA. yes, I dunno how they can run such a long route as 36 with only 14 buses.Originally posted by service_238:both services serve different markets and demand sectors along the route. if not why sbst would have 123, a route that looks like a circle?
dont think of the service's starting and end/loop point, think of the in betweens.
but one thing i must say... improve 36's frequency for goodness sake
I seen before 36A buses with passengers in the evening peak.Originally posted by sbst275:36A runs at night, for the last few trips as if it continue full trip, bus will arrive Changi at 0200
Just a suggestion (refer to my post above).Originally posted by supremebull:How to integrate?
svc 36 - airport to tomlinson rd
svc 123 - BMR to Bukit Purmei
= svc ??? - Airport - BMR?
how are you going to deal with the missing link from orchard rd/clemenceau/havelock/outram/tiong bahru/bukit purmei? recall that when 605 was withdrawn bukit purmei residents made a considerable amount of fuss. if you withdraw 123 they are going to make even more fuss.
just let things be the way they are.
Service 401 used to connect National Stadium area with Tomlinson Rd. Demand was very weak that's why it was shortened.Originally posted by payne:I think should allow service 11 to serve longer journey. To stadium for geylang lor 1 is too short and low demand. For e.g to Tomlinson Rd (LOOP)!!!
payne, hw often are u on the roads utilised by these svcs, may i ask? what makes u think tt sv123 has a low dd? is it bcoz u saw it once or twice w low ridership? it's not hard to see one on the road if u actually concentrate hard. Please note tt sv123 brings Bukit Purmei residents to Queensway & Orchard Rd which would have otherwise being served by the withdrawn CSS605. In addition, sv36 is benifiting residents going to the airport to the City & vice versa!Originally posted by payne:Service 36 amd 123 should have merged. tts y there is sv36A after 2300hrs departing Changi Airport. Please, i have taken the last bus to CGA countless times, it reaches CGA around 0030hrs plus...Originally posted by sbst275:36A runs at night, for the last few trips as if it continue full trip, bus will arrive Changi at 0200
Don't remove 123. Should let it cover Golden Mile. There is currently no bus from Golden Mile to any part of Orchard. The former has been quite cut off since the NEL rationalisation ended. 961 & 980 only ply in one direction and return via Nth Bridge Rd & Jln Sultan.Originally posted by kenny_cai:36 + 123 = Possible, but most likely rejected by SBS Transit.
93 should stay for rail replacement duty. Same for 70.Originally posted by kenny_cai:11 - SBST might consider withdrawing the service when Stage 1 of the CCL starts operations, along with Service 93.
