I tink Service 36 can be renamed 36E that serves Changi Airport Tomlinson while service 36 serves UEC Tomlinson

You are just going back to the days of 16 and 16E.. Reason that they dont wan to continue using 16E was because at that time, passengers / tourists going towards Changi often mistake 16 as the one going into Airport.. While the other hand, ppl going towards Marine Parade often mistake 16E as the 'Express' Service to Marine Parade skipping Stadium / Old Airport Rd area. The route of a SWT can only follows the route of its parent service and not deviate from it. -

SBS called its first long bus (SBS997A) the Super long bus. then after 998 came, its back says "You are Travelling behind Asia's longest bus" and the EDS says "Welcome onboard"
talking bout EDS, does the buses put thnigs like "Happy Chinese New Year" etc now? -
as the bulk of passengers on 36 is from marine parade, there is sv48 to assist sv36 for those to the city, esp. to the bugis area. this may deter SBS from introducing a proposed 36B even if someone ask them to.. and, DDs moves slower than SDs, not feasible..

For passengers to UEC, there's sv14 & the frequency is quite good so it defeats the purpose to have another duplicate route for it. The Load Factor for sv 36 in the evenings is quite high. However, having DDs on SWTs or 36X on a specialised route to MP/UEC will not solve the problem because of the jams Along Orchard/Bras Basah Rd. Immediately after Marine Parade Rd BS[Os MArine Parade Gdn], the bus is only half/3Q full.
