can i know what happened to the other CNG buses and when will this buses be out and What service will they be on

Yes.From waht most of us know,some of it would probably be on 98,174 and 105.Any others i missed out please tell me.SBST does not want to operate them because of the High operating costs as mentioned above.However,it may change as Tamago said that SBST modified the buses to meet their expectations.So i guess they are still doing that.So don't lose hope yet.Originally posted by 5454:can i know what happened to the other CNG buses and when will this buses be out and What service will they be on -

How to modify? Meaning 2990-2999 will come out for revenue service quite soon? -
I'm not sure....But from what i heard,SBST is not quite happy with the performace of those CNG peeps.So they modified 2989K to their expectations like what Tamago said.So if it proves to be sucessful,we may be seeing them on the road.Originally posted by iveco:

because the 2 CNG buses now running in Singapore are still under Volvo warranty, SBST has been sending the buses to Volvo mechanics for servicing regularly (SBST mechanics won't do anything or else warranty may be void). cos SBST and CNG bus drivers were complaining that the bus has "loss of power" and "loss of torque" issues, the Volvo ppl have been overhauling & modifying certain parts of the bus and getting feedback to improve their B10BLE-CNG buses.
while i'm not sure which parts have been modified, i believe it includes the gas reservior tank (slow flow of gas to the intake?), ZF transmission and the engine itself. and i must say the performance of the bus has improved since. if they have found the solution for the "loss of power" issue, they may apply it to the other 10 CNG buses, which are now being kept in depots to rot.
my personal analysis could be that the reservoir could not supply gas fast enough when the engine needs more gas at high rpms, leading to a "suffocating" sensation when the bus is trying to speed. but this has since improved.
note that after each modification, SBST will have to collect data on fuel consumption rates cos it's not all about performance but also being cost-effective. thus, a definite word on the launch of the remaining 10 buses will not come soon. imo, the time frame for the launch could be jul 2006 - jan 2007.
however, there is another source that says SBST may want to sell the 10 buses though i don't think the possibility of such a deal is high.
6 of the buses are parked in slbp and 4 (2990E, 2991C, 2996P & 1 more) in bbdep. -

not confirmed. it may even be diesel-powered O500LE that SBST is getting.
the mods to B10BLE-CNG is only to tweak it for better performance & fuel economy, so it will be limited to the B10BLE-CNG's. -

Will the B9TLs be Euro-3 or Euro-4 compliant? f I'm not wrong, Singapore palns to adopt the atter standard from next year onwards.

with regards to the O.500LE purchase, they may be in before Oct 2006 since we still have 18 months to it before the Euro IV compliance standards set in.
