so sad only two average from malaysia and about five from singapore... SBS business better average about FULL -

Anyway, this is because all bus and taxis fares in MY is going up by 18-40% -
But however, I think the paper did not know this...
They said SBS may not going to increase bus fare because of compeition..
However, the real reason is that any increase is across the board and not only Sv 160/ 170 -
New fares
CW1
To Checkpoint
$1.00 (SBS is $0.80 cash, not applicable by card due to technical prob)
To Kota Raya
$1.20 (SBS is $1.00 cash, $0.58 card*)
To Larkin
$1.60 (SBS is $1.30 cash, $0.88 card*)
Student/ Concession
$0.70 (SBS is $0.55 cash, $0.35 card*)
*Based on the fares with transfer rebate from travelling MRT and transfer at Kranji -
From Kranji MRT to JB Checkpoint, better use cash, if use Ez Link, card status at checkpoint will be "ride suspended", which does not deduct the $0.38 as mentioned. JB Checkpoint is not considered as a bus stop.

i think this means CW buses will lose even more passengers with the fare increase it is such a stupid move by CW buses .

The fare increase will be implemented by all transport operators in Peninsula Malaysia, not just Handa Indah alone.

Adult: $2.80 (SJE is $2.40 as unlikely fare will increase)
Children: $1.40 (SJE is $1.20)
Lucky no CW3/4, otherwise fares will be up by $0.60 to $3.60 from $3.00

The increase will mean it will cost $12.90 more to take CW1 (Can take 9 more Sv 170 trips to Larkin by using pay cash)
And $17.20 more to CW2 (Means can take 7 SJE trips) -

Meaning IntraKota fares will increase? Their standard sucks big time. It does not justify a fare increase. Same story with SPNB-Putra. it should be completed by year end.
other changes include removal of duplicating routes, reducing headways to 10-12mins from 15-20mins by working to put in service at least 400+ of a combined 1000+ buses that were out of service but not serviceable yet. of cos, fares will most likely go up a little.
try searching online for this article.
