Both BP and YT are little enclaves bounded by reservoirs. Unless there is a road that cut through the peirce reservoirs (which is deemed impossible), else BP probably got to wait for the new BP MRT lines.
Anyway, I do agree that BPJ wasn't well-settled back in 1995. But when Tibs took over, they left things much as they were and made little improvements to the BPJ route group. -

That's impossible. The demand is quite high! Be it peak hour or non peak hour.
If not just take a lot of the svc 190, 95% of the trips have standing passengers. That fact cant deny!
And sbst not implementing because ptc forbid them from implementing one that cut into smrt territory.
Furthermore SBST dunt have the support of SMRT. What i understand from SBST is that, in order for them to have cross terrotories services, they must have the support and cooperation from the SMRT.
Vice versa. if smrt wants to have services to infiltrate the SBS terrritories,(which i doubt they want to) they also must have the support of SBST.
so simplify there isnt any form of competition! -

sv 67 originally is from SBST (SBS), had to handover to SMRT (TIBS) as services in CCK n BB were handed over a few years back.Originally posted by SBS9828X:den 67 leh???? -

bukit panjang and cck has direct bus service to lim chu kang in 975 n another towns in singapore doesn't have privilages to have direct bus services to lim chu kang

61 and 67 were landed to SMRT because then TIBS has failed to secure the tender to run NEL line. as a result All Bukit batok and Choa Chu Kang services were given to TIBS. and Sengkang services formerly run by TIBS were handed to SBST.
Which i think was grave mistake and made the TIBS becomes poorer, because they needed to buy more expensive buses to run these high capacity services.
Before that all they have were the 45 seated buses and less than 100 bendy buses.
as a result of the handover, they need to buy more bendies to cope with the demand. -

I dont get it.. Who WANTS to go to Lim Chu Kang that often.. ?? is nt as if that there is a Shopping mall right Smack in the middle of Lim Chu Kang rd..... So.. whats the use of a 2nd bus service into Lim Chu Kang.. ??

Let's begin with the reason for writing in.
I am a Bukit Panjang ( BPJ ) resident. On March 15, my fellow BPJ resident Mr Lin had wrote a letter to ZB interaction section, reviewing the incovienience of public transport in BPJ, in which, the focus is on providing direct bus services by the authorities, for instance, direct bus from BPJ to Ang Mo Kio or Toa Payoh.
11 days later ( March 26 ), SMRT Corporation Public Relations officer, Madam Cai gave a reply. She did not mention a word on direct bus, neither did she pay attention on Mr Lin's request, instead, Mdm Cai reply by teaching the residents of BPJ on how to take bus. Hence, I decided to write to ZB interaction ( published on April 4 ). Requesting SMRT to focus the transport problems in BPJ.
Besides asking upon how to improve the transport system here, allow the residents to enjoy world class transportation. I would also like to ask SMRT when are they going to introduce direct bus services?
The last sentence of the reply said, "True heartedly looking forward on a true hearted reply", even a sentence saying "never ever consider before" or "in consideration", is also a reply.
I believe that I am very patient. For the past month, I have been flipping the pages, with my friend from BPJ, looking for SMRT's reply, but to no avail.
From the beginning, I thought that SMRT refuse to reply, simply because they need time to translate my letter, or sending personnel to survey the situation. Now, besides feeling doubtful on SMRT's capabilities, the public also seen the bad attitude of SMRT towards passengers.
Let's make a comparison, on April 15, a well-known person of the local advertisement industry, made a complain of SIA's poor services in ZB's interaction section, received a quick response from SIA. That's a fantastic impression on SIA's responsiveness and professionalism.
Some people joked that, the difference of attitude towards passengers of these two transport corporation, depends on the mode of transport that they are providing.
Simply because, one company is providing air services, when the passengers are unsatisfied, they can choose another company. The other company is providing bus and train services, when the passengers are unsatisfied, they still have to wait!
