Express Service. will normal service be reduced

I'm rider of service 97.
Just recently there is 97e. and also previously there is 97A....
Now it seemed the waiting time for normal 97 is much longer.
Is it true if there are 97e, normal 97 service will be reduced? -
I believe it will.
Look at SBST170. I had waited for SBST170 from Woodlands to Bukit Timah, and for 20 minutes, after 4 buses of SBST170 terminating at Kranji, I am still waiting for the bus that terminating at Queens St. -
Express service is more expensive. and with less normal service. People are forced to take the express service.
So you will have to wait longer with the express service?

Didn't see 97A for a long time already. Think it is no more.
And I wanted to stop at one of the stop where 97e don't stop at. So have to wait longer for 97.

This is off topic, but if you type in 520 or 521 into the search bar on the SBST guide, you get the routes of 97E & 174E respectively. -
