That was in the 1980's already... Not extended area, the running costOriginally posted by dragg:feeder service fares used to be 20-30 cts. it has nothing to do with the air-con. the higher fares are due to the extended area covered by individual service number.
To add on, Cross Harbour Svs the fares can be S$4.50Originally posted by sBs_boy:Uncle.. count yourself that You are Living IN Singapore.. in HK, sometimes you may be paying up to S$2 for 1 or 2 stops only.. AND.. they do not have REBATE System over there.... Count yourself lucky....
Thought you parka? Can still walk meh?Originally posted by Parka:I always walk to the interchange instead of taking the feeder bus.
So I figured I might have saved around 0.63 x 100 days x 2 times a day x 3 years = $378.
That's for walking 20 ~ 25 minutes a day.
you the 1st to say this in a forum. you must have gotten a good increment!!!Originally posted by PJ_Quek:How can we expect goods prices to maintain when we ask for increase in pay? Service providers also need to live on, people who work in this line also need to earn enough money to live on.
Eh, there is no rebate for bus system but if u tfrs at major bus stops[interchanges] u r entitled to discountsOriginally posted by sBs_boy:Uncle.. count yourself that You are Living IN Singapore.. in HK, sometimes you may be paying up to S$2 for 1 or 2 stops only.. Why is there a concession rate for students (tertiary students excluded)? Do you see 3 students share a seat? They occupy the same amount of space too. Perhaps they should consider removing the students concession.Originally posted by sbst275:$0.83??? I thought is just $0.63??
Last time, feeder fares are lower than trunk fares... But it is understandable as actually bth types of svs are using the same type of buses
how can you make such comparisons?Originally posted by 105090:Singapore people very lucky le.. bus have transfer rebates concessiobns and children fares, similarly, petrol and diesel has loyalty points and discounts (also pointless) and many other countries dont have such little discounts
if petrol is cheap, vehicle prices tend to be sky high.Originally posted by dragg:how can you make such comparisons?
there are always pros and cons. in UAE petrol is very cheap. so are we suppose to feel bad?
If there are to be student concessions, these should be applied across the board, from Pri One to Final Year of BA degree.Originally posted by iamgoondu:Why is there a concession rate for students (tertiary students excluded)? OK... They are subsidised by adult fare... Same as profitable svs supporting those bleeding onesOriginally posted by iamgoondu:Why is there a concession rate for students (tertiary students excluded)? Do you see 3 students share a seat? There must be a reason why they first have a concession rate for feeder service. Why some areas are served only by feeder and not trunk services?
it is very cheap tooOriginally posted by service_238:if petrol is cheap, vehicle prices tend to be sky high.

According to commuters? feedback, majority of the commuters prefer air-conditioned buses to non-air-conditioned ones given our hot and humid climate. It is also quieter and more comfortable to travel in air-conditioned buses.
