SMRT has applied for fare hike today (10.00PM) Channel 8 news @Labour day.
Services (esp buses) never ever improved, still got the bloody cheek to apply for fare increase. What the world is coming to?
Only SMRT has applied for this round. This bloody "saw" is such an evil.
PTC should not approved it!!!
In the bus audit conducted by the Public Transport
Council (PTC) in 2003, SMRT Buses exceeded
minimum compliance levels for bus service standards.
For trunk services with morning peak intervals of
less than or equal to 10 minutes, we achieved 83.7%
compliance against the PTC benchmark of 70%. We
also achieved 90.7% compliance for trunk services with
evening peak intervals less than or equal to 12 minutes
surpassing PTCÂ’s 80%. Overall, our performance in
2003 was better than 2002.
The year in review also saw an improvement in
customer commendation rate from 4.0 per million
passenger rides in the previous fi nancial year to 5.9 per
million passenger rides in FY2004, while the complaint
rate decreased from 4.0 per million passenger rides in
FY2003 to 3.6 per million passenger rides in FY2004.
For SBST, Our advertisement business
contributed $18.4 million, an
increase of 7.9% as compared
to the previous year as a result
of improving economy.
For SMRT, Rental revenue in FY2004 declined marginally to S$19.9 million mainly because of the reduction in lettable spaceSMRT still lagged far behind in terms of advertising revenue with $10.8 million, as compared to SBST ($18.4 million).
due to the construction of the Circle Line and passenger lifts at certain MRT stations.
Revenue from advertising was relatively unchanged at S$10.8 million. The better performance in the second half of
the year arising from improved market conditions was able to offset the weaker fi rst half caused by SARS.
