so where are the buses deployed now? or are they retired?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The buses mentioned are SBS 1881 and 1888. They were the first and second non-a/c buses to be re-furbished respectively. 1881 is the one with an underfloor a/c unit and was first used on service 33 in 1998.
1881T is a SP with ARBP. 1888A shld be with SLBP.Originally posted by 105090:so where are the buses deployed now? or are they retired?

To be exact, 1881 was ex-33 permer. Other Mk II DMs that served on 33 were 1740, 1768, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1865, 1866 and 1884. Were all of them originally from HGDEP?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The buses mentioned are SBS 1881 and 1888. Not forgetting HBF or GHM routes too.Originally posted by service_238:SP = spare bus. period.
1881 on spare in arbp/bbdep. means u can see them on bt merah, buona vista, clementi and kent ridge services.
1888 heard its a perm bus on 182, based on slbp.
1881 is on service 92 while 1888 is on service 182. However both (especially 1881) can cameo on other services.Originally posted by 105090:erm sorry.. but whats SP? and does you all know which service are 1881 and 1888 on now? should be in the east district... ie BN or HG depots

ha.. then when they climb mount sinai the bus sure puff like siao.. same as 42 at fidelio street and 408 at labrador park carpark A.. they might consider using the mercedes buses which were used on service 20.. easier and lighterOriginally posted by tranquilice:Nope. Service 92 also has MK2.
i once took service 182 on the old leyland non aircon DD from boonlay to tuas south and back to boon lay..took 1 hour 30 minutes.. BC has schedule pegged to bus-stops timetable.. if i take this bus means have to take to tuas and back to enjoy the no visible compressor bus ride.. .................................................................Originally posted by xin1jun2:Sp = special run.
or wot i call subsitute bus
or also known as run around bus
bus does not stick to a route but only to its depot. can be deployed on any bus service
SBS1881 is indeed SP. most commonly found in the bt merah or Bouna vista area
SBS1888 is now doing perm 182 after a short stint on s79 before doing 182
ZYX
is 1888 the one with the compressor 100% hidden, or is it the 50% hidden one?Originally posted by service_238:SP = spare bus. period.
