bus services over the years had experienced countless amendments, withdrawns and reintroduced, but there were some esceptions..
anyone has some to share?
an example is service 24 since 1984 and its route was never changed ( or was it)
another is 170 but i think larkin terminal was only after 1985..
any1 anymore things to think of? -
33 bedok - kent ridge
142 toa payoh - potong pasir
145 toa payoh - buona vista
166 ang mo kio - clementi
tib 851 yishun - bt merah
tib 854 yishun - bedok
24 has been touched, the route has changed after the old interchange at ang mo kio ave 3 was torn and shifted to the temporary ang mo kio interchange, the route is slightly extended a few couple of metres hahaha
170, the route has been changed inside JB, it now uses jln abu bakar and jln kolam air to get to larkin stesen instead of the jln tun abd razak -
Services 142, 145 and 166 were touched before. 142 once operated from Potong Pasir terminal and loop at Toa Payoh. 145 operated from Toa Payoh to Kent Ridge. 166 was extended from Labrador terminal to Clementi.Originally posted by Tomas_Rosicko:33 bedok - kent ridge

Service 33 was amended slightly to ply Victoria St, Hill St and New Bridge Rd instead of Crawford St, North Bridge Rd and South Bridge Rd.
Don't think there's any amendment to services 851 and 854.
Service 170 was also changed here before in the 80s. In the late 90s, make a loop round Woodlands Town Centre when the checkpoint was relocated. -
talk about services left untouched, (might not seem related) but how did svc 154 ended up to ply from MacPherson Est - Jurong (in the 1979-1980s bus guide). Did it ply from Toa Payoh - Jurong before? Thought they had some kind of a sequence for deploying of bus service numbers, ie svc 140-153 n 155-159 were from Toa Payoh)

Sv 154 rt hardly changed except it was extended to Eunos later on...
For Sv 170, the SG side rt was never changed since the green bus days... As for the loop, that one bo pian as WDL Chkpt moved to beside

For me, I think Svc 96 can also qualify. It's route has not changed one bit, AFAIK. -

i think some feeder bus also not changed much.. my mom said 240 was never changed since 30 years ago..
if u include service 103W route and 379, maybe it also hadnt changed..
many services in jurong only have slight amendments but never changed much.. -
How bout our Dear 315/317, 147.....

147 used to terminate in Potong Pasir in the past. ( Correct me if I am wrong )

Services 214E (378/820) and 214W (379/821) did not change routes as far as I know. -

Service 317 was formerly service 217. As service 317, amended to ply Upp Serangoon Rd and Boundary Rd.
Service 147 plied from Jurong East to Potong Pasir, merged with service 83 (Punggol - New Bridge Rd) in 1993 and terminated at Upp Serangoon terminal. In 1994, shifted to Hougang Central and shortened from Jurong East to Clementi. -
The Taman Jurong sector for service 240 was unchanged but the Boon Lay Garden sector was amended. The old route of 154 used to be:
Loop around MacPherson Estate, Aljunied Road, Upper Aljunied Road, Upper Serangoon Road, Braddell Road, cut through Toa Payoh Estate, Jalan Toa Payoh, Whitley Road........ etc.
Very similar to service 155. This was according to the 1972 Street Directory.
There is a possibility that 154 operated between TP and International Road before 1972, but I am unable to find such records. -

If new services could be added, then here are my thoughts:
Service 68 - Wasn't touched ever since its release.
Service 115 - Ditto. It's trial period was over too.
Service 181 - Ditto.
But if you REALLY want long-term services that haven't been touched, then here are my thoughts:
Service 18 - I don't recall it undergoing any changes, with the exception of converting the service to fully-aircon.
Service 34 - another withdrawn service which had no changes.
Service 35 - only change was the calling of bus stops during the renovation of Bedok Interchange
Service 37 - Not touched, except for the timetable.
Service 84 - from its release till its recent withdrawl, it never had any changes.
Service 87 - minor adjustments to the timetable, but that's all.
Service 970 - route diversions don't count, do they?
I don't remember much (my memory lane starts from 1994, for the record.) -
