Which services used to have/currently have white and blue for rectangular side desto?Originally posted by iveco:Direction 1: Green & white (NAC), Red & blue (AC)
Direction 2: All white, green words for street names (NAC), White and blue (AC)
Off topic: the only rectangular side desto SBST does not have is the all-white one with green words for street names.
You mean the side desto or rear desto?Originally posted by muziq bus:i got an extra 176 (red)(TIBS) desto...anyone interested? Extra 186 also..

But it doesn't use rectangular destos, it uses square destos.Originally posted by Acx1688:City Shuttle service 608
Well, even feeder services like 225 still use the NAC green & white plates despite being a FAC service.Originally posted by tranquilice:I don't think there are still blue and white side destos for SBST.![]()
Because it's a 2-directional feeder service. Other such services like 231, 243 and 410 have these plates too.Originally posted by iveco:Well, even feeder services like 225 still use the NAC green & white plates despite being a FAC service.
add to the list, is SBS 160, 170. Some 170 side destos seems to be those from the 1990s uintil now, not changed.Originally posted by tranquilice:Because it's a 2-directional feeder service. Other such services like 231, 243 and 410 have these plates too.

Maybe because it is a loop service? Merpati and Circuit Rd folks may think it is headed back towards AMK from Siglap if it only uses one side of the desto.Originally posted by supremebull:Does anyone have any idea why 135 still has different colour schemes (predominant red + some white towards Marine Parade and predominant white + some red towards Ang Mo Kio) for it's side desto even though it does not ply any road twice (i.e need differentiation?)
sv 40 loops at macpherson estate. other svcs there are 61 63 66 154 155 158.. strange.. 155 is becos it plies the same bus stops in different direction..Originally posted by iveco:Maybe because it is a loop service? 63 has been operating from Eunos and looping at Jln Rumah Tinggi since merging with 382 in 2002.Originally posted by 105090:sv 40 and 63 loops at macpherson estate. other svcs there are 61 66 154 155 158.. strange.. 155 is becos it plies the same bus stops in different direction..
did 135 uses this format before the red-and-white destos era?
Yes svc 135 had the bi-colour plate. And if I'm not wrong, it still has the bi-colour plates now. As far as I remembered, buses exiting Mattar Rd and turning right into Aljunied Rd (direction of MacPherson Rd) had white plates, while buses turning left into Aljunied Rd (direction of Geylang Rd) had green plates. Therefore summary wise:Originally posted by iveco:Svc 64 was the last bus route to operate out of Macpherson Terminal. Didn't know it went to Ulu Pandan as well. Thought it looped at Mei Chin all the while. I remember it went single plate after extension to Sims Place the same year Svc 63 was re-introduced. So far, only 155 continues this old tradition of calling twice at the same stops in MacPherson Estate.
Also, 135 was later amended to become Ang Mo Kio-Marine Parade. I don't remember this route having any bi-colour system before the closure of Marine Parade terminal.
A side note, why did certain TPY routes (like 143 & 151) have different coloured plates back in the 1980s?
