158 later became a single-plate route after being amended to Tanjung Rhu, if I'm not mistaken. The green & white plates on 61 and 154 vanished when ADDs were introduced. Another service using different coloured plates was 147 before its integration with 83.Originally posted by bluezombie10:Yes svc 135 had the bi-colour plate. And if I'm not wrong, it still has the bi-colour plates now. As far as I remembered, buses exiting Mattar Rd and turning right into Aljunied Rd (direction of MacPherson Rd) had white plates, while buses turning left into Aljunied Rd (direction of Geylang Rd) had green plates. Therefore summary wise:
135 - to Toa Payoh (white plate)
- to Upp Changi Rd (green plate)
155 - to Toa Payoh (white plate)
- to Upp Changi Rd (green plate)
158 - to Chai Chee (green plate)
- to Toa Payoh (white plate)
For info.Originally posted by iveco:158 later became a single-plate route after being amended to Tanjung Rhu, if I'm not mistaken.
This is common on buses using newer destoes. Those on 151 say HOUGANG CENTRAL INT.Originally posted by weijie2749:on bus #63 it says Eunos Int as it's destination.but on other buses heading to Eunos Int ,they say Eunos.hmm..
If I'm not wrong, service 143 is the first service with such destos.Originally posted by iveco:This is common on buses using newer destoes. Those on 151 say HOUGANG CENTRAL INT.
they may just replace the old and torn ones with new ones, as in old fonts etc but a new one instead.. sv186 got new ones with old fonts.Originally posted by SBS9889U:I Think 170 Red uses back its old destos as i have not seen new ones.
170 uses some of its old front destoes and uses new destoes...but!....the format is the same....destination + number in the middle...the same case as 160...fonts for 160 n 170(new) are not the same as the old...Originally posted by 105090:why sv48 front plate is new font but back one is old font? and also, why S'goon svcs have to change to new font after changed to volvos? sv197 62 and 82 also like tt..
and did sv170 red changes/renew its side plates or used the old ones for a decade plus?
and why sv160 front plate font look so odd?![]()
Difficult to imagine that, but i could imagine SMRT 950 using Hino Volgrens and Habit BendiesOriginally posted by muziq bus:170 uses some of its old front destoes and uses new destoes...but!....the format is the same....destination + number in the middle...the same case as 160...fonts for 160 n 170(new) are not the same as the old...
I tynk, 160 n 170 services do not use new fonts as this is a sensitive issue...the same case as in the model used...ads on the bus also...imagine if singapore shows off her buses to malaysia...u tynk malaysia will be happy about it...malaysia very sensitive...yet their buses r outdated n deir service management are of a lower quality....
Imagine showing off 160 using 9889U...ok lah...not possible...but imagine all SDs wif new fonts....
SBS997A u mean? cannot..Definately CannotOriginally posted by samtlk:or 160/170 using the Superlong![]()
Only the Mk IIIs have the additional brake light. There was no such rule when the Mk IIs dominated. Also, I believe the Johor Umno government's guai lan attitude only meant 170 going FAC as late as 2001 when most other high-demand routes had gone FAC back in 1998.Originally posted by 105090:sv160 and sv170 are sensitive services.. theres a reason on why the buses on these 2 svcs:
-have to be modified eg back brake light, arm rests, red and white emergency door, company name at side of bus etc.
-all uses the same buses ie mk3
-no DDs to date (custom have to go upstairs to check and becos m'sia no Dds?)
-why 160 n 170 uses green and white side plate still instead of red and white
etc
SBST is progressively changing all front destos to the new font (except for services 160 and 170). It's just a matter of time to get them replaced.Originally posted by iveco:Why did EUN & SER bus routes need new destoes after the depot swap? I understand that some buses use different kinds of side desto, but what about front ones? I believe some of the front destoes were still good.
sv170 has new front fonts.. appeared quite long already, tho not easy to notice from far range..Originally posted by tranquilice:SBST is progressively changing all front destos to the new font (except for services 160 and 170). It's just a matter of time to get them replaced.

Even so, the numbers are smaller than those on non-JB routes.Originally posted by 105090:sv170 has new front fonts.. appeared quite long already, tho not easy to notice from far range..
