1. Gov. had already done a lot in COE ERP to discourage ppl having pirvate transport. Attract ppl to take public transport using lucky draw tactic?Wad prizes include cars! OMG! ItÂ’s so contradicting
2. better seat gd experience? Dun seems like it.
I still dreaded travellin to sch every morning. The train is so crowded dat catching a glimpse of the seats is so hard.

Don't complain too much lah. I know everybody is not happy about the fair rising.
Don't always think they are making a profit means they are rich. They also got their own problem and restriction. They are raising up fare so that they can provide more services and some are even better. Like SBS9899U all these need money to buy. So that we can enjoy. New Services??? C1,C2,C3,CT8,CT18,CT28,181,97e,174e,408. They provide these services for our conviences and comfort. Though I may not agree by operating C3. Everytime I see like no passenger one. I belief they got their own reason why they want to operate. There was once I complain about the new fleet of bus Volvo about the speed. If you notice it, the speed of the new fleet of VOlvo and and old one e.g SBS9367 is totally different. The new one is slower then the old one. The reason given was that, new fleet of bus need some time for it to be stable. Just like wearing a newly bought shoe. The thoery is the same. -

To the Dolphin:It's not just some lame logic of whether the bus is slower or faster.However,i agree with you on your point on the increasing services that they deploy.
It all depends on expenditures which are increasing as even as i type this word now.Yes they earn a profit.But where do they go to?They go to the new buses,like the 150 B9TLs.If they did not go for the 97 fare hike do you think we would be having the B10TLs or the tridents on the road now?This is one point with I agree with the Dolphin.If you are a us spotter going to Hong Kong you would have to spend a lot of money in a day.I spent HKG$125 on my octopus spotting buses all around HKG during my HKG bus spotting trip overseas for only one day and less than 10 rides.How's that? -

Well, if any had gt the show on channel 8 discussing bout the fare hike. Ur should have seen that economist saying dat the reasons given for the fare hike was insufficient and awkward.
Though the fare hike seems very minimal to many of us, i have a lot of friends in sch who'r earning that own allowance. I could understand their difficulties.
One of my friends, earn her own allowance... a mere 100 bucks by tutoring sec sch kid. 2 hrs per session once a wk. So it's a mere 25bucks per session. She isn't able to tuition more kids reason being, we're in the life science field and sch load tend to be more demanding.
So, she pays $45 per month for concession. N it left her with $55 of monthly allowance. So, she ended up bringing bread to sch almost everyday.
Now, i just wish that LTA could make a wise decision. . -
