Photographing of buses can be done on a service route or out of the route. And not necessary it must be on revenue service at the time of photographing.
More like the photo of this service 181 bus was a bus-model shoot by the bus company itself. Remember the photo of a service 31 LO3x somewhere in a vacant land in Marina South? That's a bus-model shoot done by SBS.
That looks like a VO3X 96** series, not a LO3X.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:

how u know?..from what i know is there a KJDEP at that time?Originally posted by Qitai:There use to be a bus service station in Kranji. So, it is also quite likely the photograph is taken there.
Ya, that is the one. Actually, there use to be a TIBS depot and SBS depot (or whatever the proper name is). The old SBS depot location is just opposite of the current Kranji MRT station.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:how u know?..from what i know is there a KJDEP at that time?
its not opposite...its just beside the Kranji MRT (The current Turf Club) .That is the SBS Woodlands Depot.Originally posted by Qitai:Ya, that is the one. U mean TIBS first Depot is at Kranji?Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:There is no small road leading to the old SBS Woodlands Depot. The entrance was via a big iron gate located roughly at the present entrance to Kranji MRT. The small road beside the depot led to the Woodlands Home for the Aged. The road was called Lor Woodlands Kechil.
In the TIBS era, the buses used for svs 180, 181 and 182 were the Hino HT228KA. The picture of the sv 181 bus was indeed taken somewhere along Kranji Rd. Since TIBS started off with mainly Woodlands services, their first depot was located at Kranji.
