SMRT Dennis Lances

There have been so much thread regarding VO3x, VSOs, Mark 3s, Scania CRBs and so on. What about Dennis Lances? I seriously think they are good buses! They are swift, silent and having nice interior. They should not go unnoticed! Place yr comments/discussions abt Lances here!
Why only few occassional Lances in Woodlands? Put more Lances there pls! Put them on sv178
Or better still.. on sv 966! Cruising along the expressway! Yeah!! -

!!!!! Are you sure that Dennis lance are quiet buses ? Have you sat at the back ? Have you tried 1015J ? The bus aircon is pathetic, noisy and very hot especially if you seat at the rear.Strangely you can feel the air con seating in the front but not at the rear. In general, they are good buses. But of course there are a few 'black sheeps' and you can't find every buses of the any same model to be tip top. Yes I agree with you that the back seat is kinda hot. It's jus that I find Lances are swift buses. And better leg space too. I can't stand Mark 2 and Mark 3 small legspace.
What's yr fave bus models anyway? Peace. -

Dennis Lances are only found at SMRT's Ang Mo Kio Depot.

What is the diff between Malaysian UMW Lances and UK lances? Me not sure la. Kindly enlightened me.. thanks..

Lances? Well they are speed demons. Quiet? Well......., not exactly. Comfy? I like the seats.

I like this model as it has powerful acceleration and is good for travel at high speed. The loud engine noise esp at high speeds further demonstrates its powerful engine.
I feel that this model looks even more attractive in its new SMRT livery. -

Kindly elaborate pls. My place not many Lances lah so i donno how to differentiate those Malaysian UMW Lances and UK Lances. Woodlands only have cameo Lances. I guess you get to see them at Woodlands Int around 3 times a weekOriginally posted by 5454:the bodywork.

Both types of Lances have the same Duple Metsec bodywork. The main difference is that the UMW Lance have a smaller front desto. This is because it was originally designed for holding plastic plates. The UMW Lances are older but they have a 245 bhp engine while UK Lances 211 bhp. There are also 2 Lances with Volgren bodywork. The story goes that UMW was looking to offload their Lances. TIBS secured a deal and took all the Lances, including 2 bare chassii. These 2 became the Volgren Lances.

Does dis bus have those chimneys like on their DM counterparts? -
why don't SMRT put those PA rego Dennis Lance buses on normal revenue services and put bus plus buses on the ferry services instate and btw where does those ferry services go to.
