They can't cancel the transcation from their readerOriginally posted by bluezombie10:Well, if the BC had known how to reset the fares, then I wouldn't have to make an extra trip to the MRT station right?
THere is NO WAY that the BC can reset the amount tap by your card... The only time is breakdown... BREAKDOWn is When the bus is NOT FIT to continue on normal revenue service. (meaning that the bus had to wait for a tow truck, wait for people from depot Or drive the bus back to Int to ask for help... So... Got off about 1.20 am. Had paid my fare in cash as there was not enough cash in my ez-link card (left 98c). Asked the BC whether the bus stops outside Fullerton Hotel, BC said yes. Afterwards, I had sat near to the boarding doors of the bus. When I had wanted to get off, my ez-link card (which was placed in my left shirt pocket) had accidentally tapped on the card reader. Informed the BC to reset the accidental fare by my card, he still can tell me off as to why I had stood so near to the reader. BC did not even bother to reset the fare paid by my ez-link card at all. Even said that he don't know how to do it. He even had asked me to tap on the reader again to confirm again, and from the there it showed that it had already been deducted. Reasoned with him that it seemed illogical as I had paid total $6 just for a ride on NR7 ($3 cash and $3 ez-link card), and he said it was just too bad.
Makes me wonder for a moment. Are all BCs actually trained to handle this type of situation. If they can reset the fares paid by the passengers when the bus breaks down, then I do not understand why they can't do the same for a passenger who has accidentally tapped unknowingly on the reader. Seems this experience has made me think differently about SMRT BCs.
Now, I have to make my way down to the TransitLink office to ask for a refund of my $3!!! And already submitted a complaint to SMRT liao.

That was the only ez-link card in my shirt pocket. And it had accidentally tapped unknowingly.Originally posted by sbst275:They can't cancel the transcation from their reader
And pls, refrain from allowing 2 cards together and near the card reader.. The card reader are very senitive, that's why it is contactless
Yes i agree. I've encountered a few times where bus break down, and BC insisted that the passengers don't tap their card 1st, as he is resetting the fares.Originally posted by 105090:please allow me to say
BC can and are allowed to reset fares. they press and hold a button, and you place ur ez link card on the reader nearer to the driver (left hand). then u see the message" Fare Cancelled" i had my fare resetted before after some nasty experience.
make sure u still have your bus ticket... Just to make sure.. [Reminder!!!]Originally posted by SBS9828X:U can always go to a nearest MRT station within howmany days to get ur refund![]()

They used to be friendly in the past....now the drivers "misbehaving"Originally posted by carbikebus:They can always press the cancelled rides button anytime when necessary.
I find that the trends nowadays are vice versa,Most SMRTB SCs are quite rude and unfriendly compared to SBST.Maybe the timings and hectic drives is the reasons?
I find that the polite ones are those from BPJ.Originally posted by 105090:i think is the company force them to be courteous, and with SMRT long schedule and frequency, with high loads, drivers gets more short tempered.
I realised that BB SMRT BC are also majority friendly and sociable...I remember talkin 2 BC Murugan, Arumurugan (former 106 BB-S'goon), Basher a/l A (former 106 BB-S'goon)....but 61 drivers are a bit grumpy. Definitely coz of their hectic schedule...fyi, coz i play Midtown Madness 2 and i "drive" HK V03x on San Francisco map for a few hours and became grumpy while "driving"..Originally posted by LazerLordz:I find that the polite ones are those from BPJ.
