As for Sv 160, the frequency that one is unstable... Svs using Causeway, frequency unstable one all thks to SG side for the security checksOriginally posted by the Bear:thing is... most of the time, i'm going to work when i take the bus...
the buses take 1 hour and 20 minutes to get me to work (one way).. if i take a car it takes me 17 minutes...
so, how come bus services get like that? oh.. before you ask, if i use the very way the buses take to get to work, i would take 23 minutes.. i've timed it already...
but all this is moot.. still want to know how come the bus companies need to keep gouging the citizens when they have insanely high profits?
It is not for insider, it is stated at SBS's siteOriginally posted by the Bear:question for the insider.. how many trips per day does SBST register?

Dun try and protect the Checkpoints... The jam stretch back to as far as bef the JB checkpoint... Aft the JB chkpt, the bus and car share 1 lane...Originally posted by the Bear:it's stable enough...
the thing is that the drivers don't drive sensibly.. probably because of an insane schedule they have to keep...
this may just be tied to mismanagement??
but who cares right now.. i had no problems whatsoever..
if i took the trains and then the bus, whatever bus it is at Kranji, it takes me about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes anyway...
so it's not about the frequency
again, this is arguing the nitty-gritty...
the question remains unanswered... why is it that the companies insist on increasing their fares when they are posting more than healthy profits?

Avg is abt 2.1 - 2.2 million a day
Yah... But disel cost went up by 16 million...Originally posted by the Bear:2 million, multiplied by average 1.5 cents increase = $30,000 per day in increased revenue
multiply that by 365 days = $10,950,000
yearly revenue just increased by that much...
no additional outlay.. that's pure pre-tax profit right?
i'm in the wrong racket

SINGAPORE : The Public Transport Council has approved fare increases for trains and buses from [b]July.
Bus and train fares can go up by 10 cents across the board. This is if commuters pay cash.
However, if they use ez-link link cards, fares will increase by one to two cents for buses and one to three cents for trains.
Student fares and prices of student and NS men concession passes will not be increased.
Senior citizens will, however, be affected by this increase.

That's why, you dun care... So when bus delayed by jam, your dun believe... Bo chapOriginally posted by the Bear:i ain't.. i don't really care about them jams

High profits?? You sure or not? HK KMB profit margin even higher... And, go take a look... Many bus svs high demand yet uses NAC buses, weekend demand very low then have aircon buses... If it was opp, I would agree that it has high profit
Because your like to compare how cheap is things at other countries... Like your like to say, rather stay in MY, things cheaper...Originally posted by the Bear:we are NOT living there...
we are NOT in HK...
the question remains unanswered.. try not to dodge the question:
why is it that the companies posting such strong profits see fit to ask and get fare increases?
please answer that question..

Got overloaded buses, say carrying 15 more ppl than it is allowed?
How old are you? Till now and with so many past records, you still don't realise how the gov work? Do you think they are consultative or authoritative? Think you should read up more "explanation" given by them for past issues and records of increment.Originally posted by meltz:really dont know y PTC approves ..... the service never improve at all ... still demand us to pay more ....... haiz
WHY ARE YOU ASKING ABT THE QUESTON WHEN I AM THE ONE ASKING?Originally posted by the Bear:what are you trying to say??

And anyway... Strong profits? Revenue went down and had to retrench ppl just to keep staff cost low still called strong profit?
Bear... It is healthy profits? Then why they need to take bank loan to buy buses?Originally posted by the Bear:this makes for even sicker reading now...
the company would rather retrench people than lose that $40million+ profit...
a $40million+ profit is not exactly unhealthy...
make up your mind...
seriously.. take your stand.. is the $40million+ profit = fare increase = retrench people?
the company is getting more and more insane each time you post...
