What makes a noisy bus ? How to get a quiet bus ??

  I'll say not every bus in Singapore is like that, only those with 2 exhaust pipes on the rear-right !!
  Even then make sure it not a fake because i've seen some with 2 pipes fitted onto the original 1 pipe only. On the other hand if the 2 pipes lead to seperate exhaust manifolds on the engine itself then i'll say that's the 'real thing' !! Need to bend down & look underneath the chassis to verify i suppose.

  so to us a noisy bus is a quiet bus and a quiet bus is a bus that emits a sound far more solid than a BMW, far more pleasant than a Lexus and far nicer than a tuned Evo..

  I've seen 1 such unit used by a private operator plying i think 540 route from CBD to Thomson area. This fellor switched the star from the original chrome to gold colour ! Uses Kassbohrer Setra headlamps & rear lampset on a local bodywork which i think is metalic-silver or gold colour. Given a choice, i take this over the O 405, Scania, MAN or Volvo here ! But i think he only operates during peak hours.
  
  Others of this type in public service would be in SJE, but unfortunately i do not find SJE maintenance very good so the service condition of their buses are not generally as good as say Handal Indah's ! With coach bodies, RMG i know also uses this model. Rest i've seen in Singapore tend to come from Malaysian operators like Transnational, Sri Maju, 5-Stars, Transtar 1st class, Gunung Raya.
