I thought the practice today is still the same as last time when Paper Passes were in use: to show pass without demand when paying cash.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:One driver of SBS522L of Svc 25, asked me to show my Bus Concession Pass as I am paying cash for the bus fare. The bus driver wanted to verify the identity of the Student Identification Pass before enjoying the 55¢ fare. If I don't show to the driver, I will have to pay adult fare, 90¢.
Yes, that's correct.Originally posted by PhyrePhox:I thought the practice today is still the same as last time when Paper Passes were in use: to show pass without demand when paying cash.
I have heard of such stories before down here.Originally posted by Texcoco II:

One more thing:Originally posted by SGEMP:I have heard of such stories before down here.
And so should SMRT ban them from using all their means of transport including trains and taxis?
btw, what type of people are they? how they looked like?
When the bendies first came to Boon Lay Int, the service that uses it (sv180) was moved from the parallel berth to the saw-tooth berth. Don't know why they didn't do the same to 187.Originally posted by SGEMP:One more thing:
I have observed the berrths of Boon Lay Interchange and it seemed that bendys are totally unsuitable for use down there because of frequent risk of being stuck in between the buses.
So it is better to remove all the bendy schedulars and replace them with more nonbendys and add more frequency to cover for the loss.
Is it the nonbendys a.k.a. the 12ms?Originally posted by samtlk:When the bendies first came to Boon Lay Int, the service that uses it (sv180) was moved from the parallel berth to the saw-tooth berth. Don't know why they didn't do the same to 187.
If u increase the number of 12m buses, there won't be enough berths for them. When 187A was introduced, the SCs were told to use the 178 berths. Look at 30 during peak hours. Ever since 30e started operation, the berths are always full with 3 buses while 1-2 more buses are behind waiting to come in.
I think 187 & 199 should switch berths. The parallel berths were designed for the DD in mind.Originally posted by samtlk:When the bendies first came to Boon Lay Int, the service that uses it (sv180) was moved from the parallel berth to the saw-tooth berth. abo then... yes.Originally posted by SGEMP:Is it the nonbendys a.k.a. the 12ms?
No, it's convenient for us NTU people... we can easily choose between 199 and 179 since one is just around the corner from the other.Originally posted by iveco:I think 187 & 199 should switch berths. The parallel berths were designed for the DD in mind.
Should be easier since there are not as many services operating at harbourfront.Originally posted by iveco:By the way, how do the bendies manage to maneuvre at HBF terminal? Is it worse than BNL?
Another thing, that if they do not cooperate with the Bus Captains, the BCs shall request the student to surrender their ez-link pass.Originally posted by SGEMP:I have heard of such stories before down here.

HBF terminal has a lot of space behind the berths, almost double that of Boon Lay Int. The bendies can reverse straight out & still turn even if it is between 2 other bendies.Originally posted by iveco:By the way, how do the bendies manage to maneuvre at HBF terminal? Is it worse than BNL?
Berths are not necessarily done like that for convenience. For example, in Clementi at one time, 14 and 166 were next to each other. However, this made the students of SP not stand at the lines but crowd around along the walkway until one of the buses come.Originally posted by kc_leung:No, it's convenient for us NTU people... we can easily choose between 199 and 179 since one is just around the corner from the other.![]()
147 also goes to SP, doesn't it? there is also 105 and 106 from Commonwealth Ave West (central stop 2).Originally posted by PhyrePhox:Berths are not necessarily done like that for convenience. What's the moral of the story?Originally posted by gorby107:For me:
Today I board a 980 bendy from Adm Rd West Ter
After just boarded it, the BC keep on horn horn................
As the bus cannot drive out as there was a lorry blocking its way
The lorry driver in it was sleeping!!!!!!
The BC horn so many times and the lorry driver was still asleep
Then the BC was furious that he woke him up and scolded him loudly!!!!
I was taken aback on it
Then the BC drove very fast even though as there are many people cycling on the streets.
Then after that, an Indian friend went high and low around the bus
I went to asked him what had happened and he told me that his wallet had been lost!!!
He said that he brought the wallet with him to the bus
But after touching his pockets in the bus it was gone!!!
So with the help of a few other Indian friends and me
We went for treasure hunt around the bus to search for his wallet
even the BC also helped out too
But in the end still cannot find his wallet and they talked the causes of it
Pickpocket is out of the point and...........(they spoke in Tamil and I don't understand what they are saying)
In the end his friends asked him to make police report and gave him some money including.... too.
End of the story
Ok,Time to utilise those CAC UDsOriginally posted by Apex-LW'21:Another thing, that if they do not cooperate with the Bus Captains, the BCs shall request the student to surrender their ez-link pass.
Most Svc 307-deployed buses had been vandalised, most commonly are students.
