Yes, I was referring to those first batch of A/C buses on svc 168 at that time.Originally posted by hseochin:M-B O 303 ?? There was never any O 303 in Singapore, except perhaps only 1 LHD unit which i saw from Germany in transit in C&C in Singapore years ago !
Reg. plate i think was 'PA-PA 16'. Was told it was on a round-the-world trip !!
That's the real original coach & Singapore didn't seem up to the standard to afford a coach of such class !! Those which SBS used in its air-con service route 168 were O 302 & even then maybe the coachwork wasn't the original M-B O 302 coachwork but possibly only an OF 1413 with a close copied coachwork of the real O 302 !! Tell tale signs to me would be the Nissan rear lampset & the driver door handle not using the curved handle which the real O 302 would have used. I recall the glass was from Dumrong Thailand instead of Selkurit or Sigla if a real M-B original coachbody.

But the "Singapore Bus Handbook" by Danny Chan (pg 102 & 103) stated this model as MB O303....is that a typo error on the book?
I'd done the amendments to my book. thks!Originally posted by hseochin:I'm 101 % sure it's typo/printing error or simply that Danny Chan wasn't too sure.
I looked up p.102 & 103 noted the exterior driver door handle were the original type used on the 'real' O 302. But the headlamps were totally non original, as with no. of other details of the coachwork as i could see on the photos in the book. Therefore my conclusion is that what's shown were either O 302 or (more likely) OF 1413 with O 302 'agar-agar' lookalike (of course non original M-B then !) coachwork.
The O 302 & O 303 had similar styling with the O 303 the more modern model with flat chrome driver door handle. To what i'm aware, all O 303 were air suspensioned, rear engined either V6, V8 even V10 with no in-line engine ever used, unlike perhaps the O 302 or OF 1413 which used the in-line 6 cylinders only & with spring suspension only. So from here it can also be deduced that those SBS ones shown cannot be O 303.

It does not sound as heavy as the VO3X. Hence the throbbing that can be heard on a lot of VO3X is not so jia lat.Originally posted by Halide:Wads so nice about the VO2X's engine sound?![]()
