Thats cos ur being luckyOriginally posted by SBS3624G:What are your fastest rides till date?
For me, the ride home on 089 yesterday is the fastest I have tried. The mkIII was pretty normal till he reached Lor Halus. Actually 9638C, 088, was directly in front, both cruising comfortably at 65km/h. Suddenly the mkIII revved up and attempted to overtake the speeding VO3X. I was scarred stiff by the sudden revving up and the mkIII reached to the point it was screaming!(Must have been 80km/h by then) The BC relaxed and speed dropped back to about 65-70km/h, unfortunately, 9638C was not to be outdone....... It played drag race with us, and the VO3X started pulling away again. The mkIII BC bo chap, until the VO3X rear was level till the front of mkIII, then the mkIII went off its rocket again and this time, the BC kept his foot on the pedal and the mkIII overtook a small lorry, a motorcycle, a car, and a garbage truck, and finally deposited itself between a scooter and a van. My heart almost fell out. The entire drag race lasted from Lor Halus to close to Sengkang, I am surprised, the mkIII was still ok. Phew.![]()
they speed most prob at 70 but sbst some times until 80Originally posted by Halide:How come all the fast rides listed so far are of SBST one? I thought SMRT BCs are the main culprits for speeding?
Siao......Originally posted by samtlk:my fastest was on 182. the mkII was going at 90km/h along Jln Ahmad Ibrahim
some of the SBST buses don't have any speed limiter...if you're on the bus u can tell its definitely faster than 80...the BC would have gone faster but he let up cos he's nearing the tuas terminalOriginally posted by SBS3624G:Siao......Got any prove? I thought the max mkII can do is 80?
On average during off-peak, it takes 25-30 minutes from Clementi MRT station to reach Pending Rd.Originally posted by SBS9845X:Anyway, my fastest was on 184. From Bukit Timah Plaza to Bukit Panjang Plaza under 20 mins. The fellow was flying along Upp Bukit Timah Rd and Cashew Rd. Very little stops along the way.
Which reminds me, I took 2836T from HG to Woodlands, on expressway, I find that no matter how the BC push the bus, it seemed to be stuck at the same speed, speed limitor?Originally posted by samtlk:some of the SBST buses don't have any speed limiter...if you're on the bus u can tell its definitely faster than 80...the BC would have gone faster but he let up cos he's nearing the tuas terminal
the BC was a friend & i was standing beside him looking at the speedo...we wanted to see how fast that bus can go
if there is any speed limiter the fastest the bus can go is 60

i tooked 161 on VSOs, and the BC seemed to be stepping hard on the accelerator to make it go faster, but is to no avail... the limiter can be quite irritating.. but only the newer buses has the speed limiter.. the LO2x and volvo mk2 were kiong speeders..Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:SBS9847R from Woodlands to Tampines in 20 minutes at night. The fastest ride I ever had so far, no other buses came close to beating this timing.
imagine you're the BC & you're on the expressway & you're behind schedule & the fastest you can go is 55-60km/hr & most importantly, its your last trip for the dayOriginally posted by 105090:i tooked 161 on VSOs, and the BC seemed to be stepping hard on the accelerator to make it go faster, but is to no avail... the limiter can be quite irritating.. but only the newer buses has the speed limiter.. the LO2x and volvo mk2 were kiong speeders..
Some were evn on service,Sorry can't reveal much,Imagine a 161 Strider with speedo stuck at 45km/h but can easily overtook an SMRTB O405 with the speed of 65km/h,Amazing?This we called "Project Bus".Mostly Ex-Sentosa/Airbus/Employee buses &Senior BCs know how to minor modified the buses suchs as enabled the Door Interlock system and other basic thingsOriginally posted by tranquilice:On which road/expressway were the buses on and were they off-service?

Trident been rolling the passenger apart ? I have no problems with the tridents i rode so far , I enjoy the speed and comfort more then LO . LO 3 axles can speed I do not deny that but a good condition trident racing down the expressway blows the LO 3 axles away.Originally posted by SBS3624G:Took 9035S 161, took only 15min on expressway, spent most of its time at 70-75km/h, I was amazed at how stable and quiet the LO3X remains, even at high speeds, the trident would have been rolling the passengers about, and the VSO would have made us deaf, the VO3X well, have not tried really fast ones.
I believed 9847R doesn't have speed limit , that bus was very fast along the expressway , overtook a LO 3 axles and a mark 4 .Originally posted by 105090:i tooked 161 on VSOs, and the BC seemed to be stepping hard on the accelerator to make it go faster, but is to no avail... the limiter can be quite irritating.. but only the newer buses has the speed limiter.. the LO2x and volvo mk2 were kiong speeders..
