There's no service 214G. It's service 214E.Originally posted by 105090:though i always seen the buses there, i never got a chance to board them, only after seletar camp was opened to the public.. and are the side plates of 214E is white/ 214G is green?
Yes, you may.Originally posted by sbskidz:Em, may i give suggestions to sbs transit via the e-mail [email protected] directly...
8-12 minutes is the frequency in general, and most often it is true. Maybe on that day there was a massive jam at the Causeway and the buses are stuck there, causing the delay. If you're pressed for time, I would suggest taking SJE or CW2.Originally posted by Bloop...:* Scheduled arrivals are subject to traffic conditions and adjustments can be made without prior notice.
The 2 buses could be there because of overheating...waiting for the engine to cool off. Its going to be worse if the bus overheat in the middle of the jam.

Once again, what traffic? I was right at the station.
As for the speculation that both buses needed to cool down, that still boils down to lack of buses. Hence, state realistic schedules on the fliers.
Once again I'll repeat, I was at the Queen Street bus terminal.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:8-12 minutes is the frequency in general, and most often it is true. What if they state, for example, 30 mins interval, and it happens that there's no jam? People like you will start complaining again that the BC is driving too slowly or that SBST is wasting resources. Please be realistic...there's no way the schedule of such services can be predicted accurately.Originally posted by Bloop...:Hence, state realistic schedules on the fliers.
I don't get what you're driving at?Originally posted by samtlk:Why don't you go try taking the bus to Johor & back & see for yourself. No matter what you feedback to SBST they'll still give you the same reply cos its a fact. There's no point in SBST deploying more buses & have them all stuck in the jam. The result will still be the same. I posted the same reason about sv405 in one of the threads. In case you don't know, sv170 has the most number of buses as compared to all other services.

screeching or whirring noise?Originally posted by SBS1908B:Whats with some B10Ms? Some B10Ms emit loud whirring noises at higher speeds. Eg. 727M, 2691T.......
i think u were jus pretty unlucky to be caught up in the meal break timing. luckily, tis doesn't happen all the time.Originally posted by Bloop...:I don't get what you're driving at?
If the buses leave the station ON TIME and get delayed in traffic, fine. I can buy that. If there were no buses at the station when I was there, meaning they were stuck in traffic from JB. Fine, I can buy that.
I was right at the Queen Street terminal. There were 2 buses already sitting there. STILL there was more than a 30 minute wait before the bus left.
If they already leave the terminal after more than twice the expected waiting time, how are they supposed to reach each stop within the expected waiting time? They leave late, obviously then they can't make their expected stops on time.... then the delay is blamed on traffic?
Again, there were 2 buses already sitting there, so what traffic is it you keep going on about?

1881T is AR SP. (it's a very famous bus, hello.)
I think there is indeed a big traffic jam + reason of meal time. He mentioned that there were two buses park there during the 30 mins period. So during this period, no SV170 arrive at the terminal right? So there might be traffic jam at the causeway and the two buses might have been caught at the jam earlier for several hours. Thus need to let the engine cool down and let the driver rest first.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i think u were jus pretty unlucky to be caught up in the meal break timing. luckily, tis doesn't happen all the time.

Take around an hour during morning/afternoon off-peak.Originally posted by disappear:I need to know how long 105 takes to go from B04 Serangoon Ave 2 to Buona Vista(B01 Commonwealth Ave). thanks
Perhaps the 2 buses you see are the ones that just arrived and it coincides with the driver's mealtime or something. In short, it's not your lucky day lah. I was surprised that you waited for 30 minutes plus. I mean, 170 is not like 401 or 405.Originally posted by Bloop...:Once again I'll repeat, I was at the Queen Street bus terminal.
There were 2 buses sitting there when I got to the terminal. They sat there for the 30 mintues plus that I waited there.
So again, unless there was a traffic jam inside the bus driver's air-conditioned hut, and they couldn't get from their comfy chair to the door - What traffic?
Whirring. Some mkIIs, mkIIIs and mkIVs whir when they switch to 2nd gear. Er, its its so loud it can be heard from a distance, and 9178M, why does it sound like steamer with no water in it?Originally posted by ^tamago^:screeching or whirring noise?
if screeching, these are likely due to the radiator fan belt being loose or wet, thus not being able to grip at higher rpm and causing it to slip and thus screech. logically, u can also infer that this is likely to happen at a higher rpm, though the threshold rpm varies.
for whirring noise, tat's probably cos u're too near to the radiator? especially mk iv's which emit a loud radiator noise when it is spinning.
if you mean bendies, is because they uses back EDS, and not plastic ones.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Why is there also no back desto for Service 307?
