Does 9889U do revenue svc from HG to CLE? I notice 9889U will arrive at HG Ave 8 at 1705 and 1910, but upon reaching HG Int, BC often put off svc and drives off. I dun remember seeing 9889U going in opp direction.

9889U only does 2 downroutes in the evening, from Pearl's Centre to Hougang Central Int. at 1705, it will off service and rush back to Pearl's Centre by 6pm to commence a 2nd run.Originally posted by SBS1908B:Does 9889U do revenue svc from HG to CLE? 9889U does revenue svc from HG to CLE in the mornings. 7.30am and 9.30am, if i'm not wrong. -

when i take leyland 9194 or service no. 88, the bus make a loud noise when braking... volvo double deck don't have that noise.

I have tried waiting at Pearl's Centre on 2 weekday occasions (Mon and Fri), from 1745 to 1820, the most recent one being last week. But didn't manage to see 9889U. I remember someone (is it you?) saying that the exact timing is 1809. May I ask why 9423E appears to be different from other VO3X? The gears are very draggy, and the lock-up clutch, no sign of it. And the other day I took 9656A, on the highway, as the bus sped up, it was quite noisy, but after stabilising for a few moments, the VO3X suddenly became less noisy gradually, yet a check on the speedo-meter indicates the bus was still doing 65-70km/h! I find that quite shiok. Has it gotta do with the turbo-charger?

998Y in the photo was parked at Pasir Ris interchange, a hint was the service 15 bus parked next to it. 998Y was off-service when the photo was taken.
