Yes, last seen at my place at about August 2001 as a training bus at Upper Thomson.Originally posted by 105090:i thought last seen as Training Bus in Hougang Depot and Hougang South Interchange?
The Lynx (SBS3572Y) was sent by Leyland as a demonstrator. Regulations state that demo vehicles can only stay for 1 year, after which it must be bought or re-exported. SBS later decided to buy the Lynx. Hence, it wasn't re-exported like the Leyland Leopard and the Leyland National 2. Unfortunately, there were no further orders for the Lynx.Originally posted by 105090:Leyland Lynx (SBS3572Y) was sent to SBS in 1989 from leyland, probably as a "sample" bus.. did SBS ordered it or leyland sent it to SBS themselves? in this post its said lynx cost $287281.. aint it be free? and is it possible to ask SBS to put it on revenue svc? goodwill ma..

That's so badOriginally posted by The_Bus_Guide:... I don't feel that SBST would like to put it back into revenue service because it is nearing its retirement age, having been registered in 1989. There's no aircon, no farebox and no cardreader. Sad but true, it is slowly rusting away inside Ang Mo Kio Depot.
Nahz.. still inside Hougang Depot Now.. if not wrong.. it should be a Perm on 163...Originally posted by SBS3688Y:SBS 1688 K:
I read in earlier topics that SBS 1688 K was hiding inside the depot awaiting for spare parts from overseas. Is this bus back into revenue service already? If yes, on which svc??
thks. guess i got to carry on waiting again for it to re-appear...Originally posted by sBs_boy:Nahz.. still inside Hougang Depot Now.. if not wrong.. it should be a Perm on 163...
Good luck then. Happy waiting. SBS 1688K is very hard to find.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:thks. guess i got to carry on waiting again for it to re-appear...
in fact, impossible. dun bother to wait for it specifically until someone accidentally spots it on the roads.Originally posted by CAIX:Good luck then. Happy waiting. SBS 1688K is very hard to find.
3) 2006-2007.Originally posted by CAIX:Another question...
3) When will the CRBs to be scrapped completely ?
4) Most of the CRBs are used on training buses. Are there anymore CRB found in service? If there is, which number ?
i know of a way to get lynx on da rds again.. not impossible, but if someone wants to charter for a SBS bus, he can specially request for the leyland lynx.. firstly, its not on revenue svcs, so no bus service will have to sacrifice its buses. also, it allows SBS to use it again, and for ppl to see it on the roads once moreOriginally posted by The_Bus_Guide:SBS3572Y is unique as it is the only Lynx to be found in the region. The Lynx was originally intended for the British market as the successor of the Leyland National 2. It has already served its time on revenue service in the 1990s, having been deployed on svs. 106, 267 and 269 to name a few. used to see it regularly around Hougang area and Hougang South Int, but not recently.. i only see it once or twice in new colours. still used for training bus.. heard was on sv76 beforeOriginally posted by iveco:What happened to the MAN bus? It is still used for training, isn't it?
i thought scrapped long ago, sometime in 1999? it's rego shld be SBS0081C.Originally posted by iveco:What happened to the MAN bus? It is still used for training, isn't it?
no. to put it back, SBS has to pay $800 in road taxes to use it for the last 6 months. too costly for a single charter.Originally posted by Townlink 268:i know of a way to get lynx on da rds again.. not impossible, but if someone wants to charter for a SBS bus, he can specially request for the leyland lynx.. firstly, its not on revenue svcs, so no bus service will have to sacrifice its buses. also, it allows SBS to use it again, and for ppl to see it on the roads once more
Scrapped? Heavens, no! The MAN 16.240 was registered as SBS 81S in 1990. Why would SBS scrap it when it was only 9 years old? Anyway, I've got pictures of it taken in 2003 and the last time I saw it was only a year ago. It was even re-painted in SBST colours. I'm sure it is still used as a training bus and kept inside Ang Mo Kio Depot (I think).Originally posted by ^tamago^:i thought scrapped long ago, sometime in 1999? it's rego shld be SBS0081C.
My grandmother lives in the east - Marine parade. So I'll past by Bedok Interchange to change service and at Bedok, most of the feeders, 22x, uses scania CRB OAC buses.Originally posted by ^tamago^:4) You haven't been to the east recently, did you? Since when are most of the CRBs used as training buses. There are less than 20-25 training buses in the whole of SBST.
