i always liked to pass by jalan kayu terminal to see the scanias on sv379 and sv378 (Scanias) and lasti time, 214G and 214W as MB O405. now the terminal have a small kopitiam. after it closed, the pigeons took complete control of it, and it has since been boarded up. sad.. the office even had a 168 guide inside..Originally posted by CAIX:Yes, I still remember too ! I've checked the "December 2003 SBS Transit Press Release", and they didn't say anything about the closure of Jalan Kayu Terminal.Originally posted by 5454:The Control office is taken out and the bus park is closed.
yes it did not come out in the SBS Transit Press Release bus SBST closed Jalan Kayu Terminal as there where no more bus services terminating there.Originally posted by CAIX:I've checked the "December 2003 SBS Transit Press Release", and they didn't say anything about the closure of Jalan Kayu Terminal.
Yes, good idea to close the terminal. The terminal is located at such a remote area at the end of Jalan Kayu. BTW, those service that stop at the terminal bus stop (service 86 and others), are they still stopping there ?Originally posted by 5454:yes it did not come out in the SBS Transit Press Release bus SBST closed Jalan Kayu Terminal as there where no more bus services terminating there.![]()
But the closure of Hougang South Interchange has stated in the Press Release and even brodcast in TV.Originally posted by 5454:yes it did not come out in the SBS Transit Press Release bus SBST closed Jalan Kayu Terminal as there where no more bus services terminating there.![]()

Maybe Hougang South Interchange is more popular and it is in a housing Est where as Jalan Kayu Terminal is not that popular.Originally posted by CAIX:But the closure of Hougang South Interchange has stated in the Press Release and even brodcast in TV.

There are 3 reasons for a press release on the closure of Hougang South interchange:Originally posted by CAIX:But the closure of Hougang South Interchange has stated in the Press Release and even brodcast in TV.
though i always seen the buses there, i never got a chance to board them, only after seletar camp was opened to the public.. and are the side plates of 214E is white/ 214G is green?Originally posted by tranquilice:It's 214E ("E" for East Camp) and 214W ("W" for West Camp).
Ok, thanks, I understand now.Originally posted by tranquilice:There are 3 reasons for a press release on the closure of Hougang South interchange:
1. Hougang South int was located in a HDB town with high passengers traffic, but Jln Kayu ter was not.
2. Bus services at Hougang South int were relocated to Hougang Central int and passengers need to be informed of this, but there was no more bus services terminating at Jln Kayu ter with the rationalisation of services 103, 378 and 379.
3. Hougang South int was acquired by HDB for future developments and passengers were informed why the interchange had to be closed, but for Jln Kayu ter, it seems that SBST itself choose to close the terminal.
even during normal hours, sv170 red like to cheong, overtake and past by bus stops without the BC looking for pax.. they seems in a hurry, probably making up for loss timeOriginally posted by samtlk:The traffic jam is not at the Queen St Ter but at the Causeway. Since most of the buses are stuck at the Causeway Jam of course there aren't many left at the Queen St end, hence the long waiting time (waiting for the next bus to reach Queen St). Do you know that the last bus from Johor reach Queen St at around 2+ am instead of the usual 1+ am, more than 1 hour behind schedule, esp during weekends?
There were 2 buses parked at the station when I was there. I'd understand if there weren't any buses there and they had to wait till a bus pulled in, then they are so far behind schedule they had to change drivers immediately and move off, or something.Originally posted by samtlk:The traffic jam is not at the Queen St Ter but at the Causeway.
