I think SMRT Buses should implement a fare cap like SBST, so that those living in SMRT territories can benefit too.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Wow..So good
the bus fare cap is for basic SBS bus transfers for UNLIMITED transfers within 30 mins of alighting from a bus? like that means if go joy ride, $1.90 is all you needOriginally posted by tranquilice:I had paid $0.00 on bus rides before. That's when SBST $1.90 fare cap came into place.![]()
it'll start as a NEW TRIP again on your fourth transfer...u have to claim for the rest from the transitlink officeOriginally posted by 105090:the bus fare cap is for basic SBS bus transfers for UNLIMITED transfers within 30 mins of alighting from a bus? like that means if go joy ride, $1.90 is all you need
Up to 3 transfers only.Originally posted by 105090:the bus fare cap is for basic SBS bus transfers for UNLIMITED transfers within 30 mins of alighting from a bus? like that means if go joy ride, $1.90 is all you need
What's there to claim?Originally posted by samtlk:it'll start as a NEW TRIP again on your fourth transfer...u have to claim for the rest from the transitlink office

"SBS Transit will cap the maximum fare for a journey at $1.90, regardless of the number of bus transfers a commuter makes"
however after 3 transfers or after 2 hours the system will start to deduct from your card again....u're allowed to claim the extra amount deducted
there are cases where your journey exceeds the 2 hours
for example: from jurong west ext to changi airport
99 to clementi ($1.23)
transfer to 7
alight in orchard ($0.67) & transfer to 36
but if there's a traffic jam somewhere along the way or your journey from jurong to orchard exceeds 2 hours
it will show NEW TRIP when u board 36 even though its a transfer
that's when u can claim the amount deducted ($1.43 instead of $0.00 )
u can take a joyride & transfer 10 times if u want to
then see the total amount deducted from your card
minus away $1.90 & claim the balance
(i did that before)
1. it will show TRANSFER & $0.00 is deducted when u alightOriginally posted by tranquilice:1. In the example above, if I board service 36 before the time exceeded 2 hours, mean there's nothing to claim, right?
2. In the highlighted sentence, does that mean if I took SBST basic services for joyrides and for example the total fare deducted is $11.90, I can claim back $10?But the record of the cards is only limited to last 3 days or first 20 (?) transactions, right? So those bus rides with no more records, I can't claim back?

3. Can go to the ezlink website and file for an online claim, right?
Pardon me for asking so many questions.![]()
and adult fare ranges from 40c to 80c and the only aircon service is in the northOriginally posted by gasband:when i was in sec sch, feeder bus was just 15 cents....
i claimed back after one month from ezy link office, refund from fare cap amountOriginally posted by samtlk:1. it will show TRANSFER & $0.00 is deducted when u alight
2. u must board the next bus within 45mins of alighting & no same-service transfers ( http://www.transitlink.com.sg/transfer.html )....all claims must be made within 3 days...i think those transactions without records u can't claim, just like what happened in this post http://buses.sgforums.com/?action=post_display&post_id=3219979...so in a way u won't get a chance to reach $10...SBST is not stupid u know :p
anyway even if they pay u its not much of a loss to them anyway...imagine thousands of people out there who are overcharged & don't claim back or don't even know they are overcharged....what's $10 compared to that?
