Some lao chiao bus captians can make the vehicle speed but the speedo still stays at 25km/h. If you don't believe ask Carbikebus.Originally posted by the Bear:i took a look at the speedo the other day... it was cruising at 25km/h
Thats 143....Originally posted by 5454:Today saw SBS9815H off service speeding along the PIE towards Toa Payoh.
buses in singapore have speed limiter devices tied to the pedal to limit the speed to 60kph.Originally posted by cayenneturbo:i remembered takin the newest double decker (volvo)*those used in citybuzz service* it was travelin at 85kmh along a AYE , those leyland double decker at 70+++ kmh . do u guys have any clue of buses going at higher speed in spore ?
only SMRT buses have their speed limiters tied to the pedal.Originally posted by ^tamago^:buses in singapore have speed limiter devices tied to the pedal to limit the speed to 60kph.
from wat i noe about siemens mannesmann vdo speed limiters, they are tied at the pedal, and will block any signals from the pedal from going to the EDC and injectors when the speed relayed from the ECU is above 60kph.Originally posted by samtlk:only SMRT buses have their speed limiters tied to the pedal.
SBST buses have their limiters at the speedo...once the speed reaches 60, the fuel injection is cut off, leaving the bus to cruise at 60km/h....that's why there are cases where the bus is going fast while the needle is stuck at 55...it's tampered with to prevent the needle from reaching 60 & cutting off the fuel
i suppose it works by disabling the speedo input to the speed limiter system.Originally posted by samtlk:i'm not really sure of the technical details either
all i know is that the speed limiters of the O405s can be disabled by disabling the speedo & that can easily be done by pulling out a certain pin under the speedo
Wrong calculation.Originally posted by OldAhPek:Bikes are cheap nowaday
Given up on public transport long ago
Suppose on average 1 day u need 2 trips (rounding down)
1 year = 365X2 = 730 trips
suppose 1 trip is $1 buck (rounding up)
1 year = $1460
10years = $14 600
wow.... thats alot
