S8, S9, S27, S65, S74, S168 not profitable?? Quite a surprise as all these services have good loads the whole week.Originally posted by carbikebus:Most/Average Profitable Services

But it does't go to Marine Parade, unlike 196. It also serves Old Airport Rd, while 14 & 196 cover Mountbatten Rd. Svc 10 and 14 duplicate each other from Bedok Rd/Upp Changi Rd East until Tg Katong/Mountbatten Rds and then the whole stretch of Nicoll Hwy. Svc 10 & 196 also run parallel from Nicoll Hwy to Keppel Rd. Extending 10 to Jurong East may boost ridership, but the route may be too long.Originally posted by 105090:sv 10 good point is it uses nicoll highway to get to suntec, which is duplicated by sv196.. its long route dont justify high loads as pasir panajng is a quiet estate.. extending to boon lay may boost ridership![]()
However quite alot of passengers take the service to and fro NUS during the peak hours.Originally posted by 105090:sv 10 good point is it uses nicoll highway to get to suntec, which is duplicated by sv196.. its long route dont justify high loads as pasir panajng is a quiet estate.. extending to boon lay may boost ridership![]()
Service 12 too, even VSOs are deployed.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Service 2 has good load.
In my opinion, service 10 needs DDs during the peak hours to cope with the slightly higher load.Originally posted by leeJZ:S10 imo doesnt need too many DDs (it has 13 now) as its only full during morning peak towards Kent Ridge. Evening peak load is lesser, only a few trips towards Tampines from Shenton Way manage to fill a DD. Loads between HarbourFront & Kent Ridge are quite light except during peak hrs when it acts as a feeder svc for workers along Pasir Panjang Rd (not the housing part) from HarbourFront MRT. Other times loads do not justify DDs at all, afaik.
Service 106 load is still high after it was shortened.Originally posted by 105090:most NEL sector services affected by the rationalisation had seen drastic falls inridership..like 82 97 103 106 and 111.. sv107 between HG and S'goon meaningless as it serves just another link to Kovan MRT..
I'm sure the route won't be too long to extend it back to Clementi.Originally posted by iveco:Extending 10 to Jurong East may boost ridership, but the route may be too long.
yes...that and also 106, 180, 187, 190, 903, 912, 913, 960 maybe also 61 n 67,Originally posted by iveco:What about SMRT's most profitable? Anyone has statistics? I bet 851 tops the list.
There's service 96 from Clementi to NUS & service 183 from Jurong East to Kent Ridge Ter via ClementiOriginally posted by tranquilice:However quite alot of passengers take the service to and fro NUS during the peak hours.
Service 10 is already 40 fare stages end-to-end, impossible to be extended to Boon Lay. Somemore there's already service 30 along Pasir Panjang Rd, Telok Blangah Rd and Keppel Rd.
Those taking service 10 to NUS are mainly those coming from the East.Originally posted by samtlk:There's service 96 from Clementi to NUS & service 183 from Jurong East to Kent Ridge Ter via Clementi
40 fare stages end-to-end is not that long as compare to service 14 (43 fare stages) & service 30 (45 fare stages).
But 106 duplicates heavily with 77 from Holand Village up to Suntec City.Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 106 load is still high after it was shortened.
hmm.. then the NUS ppl take sv10 until backside pain? its a very long route with potential traffic jams at old-airport rd and shenton way area..Originally posted by tranquilice:Those taking service 10 to NUS are mainly those coming from the East.
service 190 is the most obvious... its always crowded all day.. SBS used to have nearly 100% DD.. also the express sector on PIE/BKE boost fare takings.. its really sad SBS has to lose 190.. they ran the service very well.. garanteed freq of 5 mins... SMRT sometimes have to wait up to 10 mins..Originally posted by iveco:What about SMRT's most profitable? Anyone has statistics? I bet 851 tops the list.
Service 77 doesn't ply Holland Ave and C'wealth Ave West. That's where most of the passengers boarding service 106 from the city alighted.Originally posted by iveco:But 106 duplicates heavily with 77 from Holand Village up to Suntec City.
Perhaps they do not want to squeeze with the crowd taking services 95 and 96?Originally posted by 105090:hmm.. then the NUS ppl take sv10 until backside pain? its a very long route with potential traffic jams at old-airport rd and shenton way area..
btw. theres a sv10 DD, i think a LO3x, which uses the old front destination sign with the word "AIR CON" on the right.. whats its rego?
Excuse me.....i am sure u all have never seen 111 and 132 during the morning and afternoon peak......being a student of RP, i have to struggle my way through to enter the bus....so many RP and Crescent Girls student and also the workers who board the bus.....next time , do not judge a bus just by surveying it during non-peak hours...not many passengers!........check first next time....Sorry....i'm in a bad mood 2day....SBS 9200 G (111) very packed today...(everyday as well)Originally posted by leeJZ:S2 have full VOs between Tanah Merah MRT & Changi Village and Tanah Merah MRT & Chinatown during morning peak, and the opposite during evening peak. Other times, frequency is lousy (10 - 15 mins) and demand is average.
S10 imo doesnt need too many DDs (it has 13 now) as its only full during morning peak towards Kent Ridge. Also imo S111 does not need DDs at all, I have never seen it reach full seating on a VO yet. S132 also.
