I agree wif u...being a BB resident and a frequent rider of 106, i once thought these 2 services were nothing but duplicates...but then i realised that these 2 services have their own group of passengers....these 2 services need not b withdrawn or amended....77 still does not need bendies though...106 needs... So packed every morning...106 first sector full with Yusof Ishak students, then its the group of passengers heading towards Toh Tuck/Clementi....then towards SP is not that bad...then it is full with workers heding to the city....106 is used by a lot of people as shown...Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 77 doesn't ply Holland Ave and C'wealth Ave West. I am sorry i have to disagree....after a lot of u had complained about SMRT 190,....i went over to CCK interchange to survey the frequency of the service....i notice they release 190 every 3 to 4 minutes...so if there is a delay in the frequency, we can only put the blame on the traffic situation...i have been stuck in a traffic jam in svc SMRT 190...and dat had caused quite a delay..Originally posted by 105090:service 190 is the most obvious... its always crowded all day.. Some enhancements can be made to certain trunk routes. Svc 106 can call twice at Suntec City like 864 in the past. Currently, Clementi folks have a direct bus to Suntec but not back home. There is Svc 14, but it is too long a journey. At least Holland V still has 111 looping at Suntec City.
As for Svc 10, it can be involved in a 3-way merger involving 97 and 130. Svc 10 can be extended to Jurong East following current 97 route, while 130 can be extended to Kent Ridge via current 10 route. As a result, Svc 97 will have to go. Such a move can make Svc 10 more profitable. Affected commuters headed for Suntec City/Marina Square can take enhanced 10 to Robinson Rd and transfer to 75. -
Service 106 is the most direct service between Bt Batok town centre and Clementi as compared to taking service 189. Clementi residents have services 7, 14, 106 and Express 502 to entire stretch of Orchard Rd (service 105 not counted in). But most will prefer taking either services 7 or 106, because service 14 goes a longer route and Express 502 charges a higher fare. -

Alot of passengers take service 10 to NUS and the workplaces along Pasir Panjang Rd so it won't be good to amend it. -
some services like sv27 has a good frequency because there are many passengers from SKG to TAM and also becos sv27 cant use DDs...

i agree with muziq. i think i'm going to slaughter you. who says 111 doesnt need DDs. It warrents DDs during peak hours. I've seen and taken 111 during AM Peak and PM peak on weekdays. u only take during the off peak hours. 111 loads come mainly from RP especially and workers from C"wealth and Queenstown area to Orchard. actually, with the NEL bus rationalisation, only sv81 remained little affected as its important part is between TAM and Pasir Ris Dr 1.. it still retains its DDs and volvos.. most others in NEL corrider had suffered.. sv103 ridership off peak 80% drop to 20% etc.

i noticed recently tt even during off peak hrs, sv111 has MKIIIs SP running on their routes so the route is not totally useless. Do note that sv10 wic runs from Tampines to Kent Ridge via Shenton Way is the ONLY PUBLIC TPT from Upp East Coast/East Coast Area to Shenton Way.Originally posted by iveco:But it does't go to Marine Parade, unlike 196. If u do take sv10 in the am, a BIG CROWD boards sv 10 at Kallang Airport area, tts y DDs are needed. Also note tt sv10 serves quite a number of schools along the route like Broadrick, TKGS,St Patrick's... so need not extend sv10 to Boon Lay or where so ever!

yeah.. sv111 provides a fast link for pple stayin in Commonwealth, Queenstown area to Orchard.
