I agree wif u...being a BB resident and a frequent rider of 106, i once thought these 2 services were nothing but duplicates...but then i realised that these 2 services have their own group of passengers....these 2 services need not b withdrawn or amended....77 still does not need bendies though...106 needs... So packed every morning...106 first sector full with Yusof Ishak students, then its the group of passengers heading towards Toh Tuck/Clementi....then towards SP is not that bad...then it is full with workers heding to the city....106 is used by a lot of people as shown...Originally posted by tranquilice:Service 77 doesn't ply Holland Ave and C'wealth Ave West. That's where most of the passengers boarding service 106 from the city alighted.
I am sorry i have to disagree....after a lot of u had complained about SMRT 190,....i went over to CCK interchange to survey the frequency of the service....i notice they release 190 every 3 to 4 minutes...so if there is a delay in the frequency, we can only put the blame on the traffic situation...i have been stuck in a traffic jam in svc SMRT 190...and dat had caused quite a delay..Originally posted by 105090:service 190 is the most obvious... its always crowded all day.. SBS used to have nearly 100% DD.. also the express sector on PIE/BKE boost fare takings.. its really sad SBS has to lose 190.. they ran the service very well.. garanteed freq of 5 mins... SMRT sometimes have to wait up to 10 mins..

Service 106 is the most direct service between Bt Batok town centre and Clementi as compared to taking service 189. That's why service 106 always has high load between the 2 towns during the peak hours.Originally posted by muziq bus:I agree wif u...being a BB resident and a frequent rider of 106, i once thought these 2 services were nothing but duplicates...but then i realised that these 2 services have their own group of passengers....these 2 services need not b withdrawn or amended....77 still does not need bendies though...106 needs... Just to add, 3 to 4 minutes is during peak hours only.Originally posted by muziq bus:I am sorry i have to disagree....after a lot of u had complained about SMRT 190,....i went over to CCK interchange to survey the frequency of the service....i notice they release 190 every 3 to 4 minutes...so if there is a delay in the frequency, we can only put the blame on the traffic situation...i have been stuck in a traffic jam in svc SMRT 190...and dat had caused quite a delay..
I agree that service 106 should ply Temasek Ave and Blvd bi-directional.Originally posted by iveco:Some enhancements can be made to certain trunk routes. Svc 106 can call twice at Suntec City like 864 in the past. Currently, Clementi folks have a direct bus to Suntec but not back home. There is Svc 14, but it is too long a journey. At least Holland V still has 111 looping at Suntec City.
As for Svc 10, it can be involved in a 3-way merger involving 97 and 130. Svc 10 can be extended to Jurong East following current 97 route, while 130 can be extended to Kent Ridge via current 10 route. As a result, Svc 97 will have to go. Such a move can make Svc 10 more profitable. Affected commuters headed for Suntec City/Marina Square can take enhanced 10 to Robinson Rd and transfer to 75.

i agree with muziq. i think i'm going to slaughter you. who says 111 doesnt need DDs. It warrents DDs during peak hours. I've seen and taken 111 during AM Peak and PM peak on weekdays. u only take during the off peak hours. 111 loads come mainly from RP especially and workers from C"wealth and Queenstown area to Orchard. Please do your research and analysis before shooting anything.Originally posted by muziq bus:Excuse me.....i am sure u all have never seen 111 and 132 during the morning and afternoon peak......being a student of RP, i have to struggle my way through to enter the bus....so many RP and Crescent Girls student and also the workers who board the bus.....next time , do not judge a bus just by surveying it during non-peak hours...not many passengers!........check first next time....Sorry....i'm in a bad mood 2day....SBS 9200 G (111) very packed today...(everyday as well)

so? they serve different markets. and the loads are from town to sectors of the route which are NOT duplicated with one another.Originally posted by iveco:Some enhancements can be made to certain trunk routes. 111 is not a useless service but imo it does not warrent an almost-full VO fleet.Originally posted by muziq bus:THANk u!...at least some of the wise ones noe that 111 is a useful service and does require DDs. Next time, research first, then criticise. I repeat my point, 111 is not a useless service!
sometimes the VOs are there for advertisment purposes. just see how many DDs enter the orchard rd area?Originally posted by leeJZ:111 is not a useless service but imo it does not warrent an almost-full VO fleet.
Quite true, many a time, i saw sv111,the DDs are full...Originally posted by muziq bus:Excuse me.....i am sure u all have never seen 111 and 132 during the morning and afternoon peak......being a student of RP, i have to struggle my way through to enter the bus....so many RP and Crescent Girls student and also the workers who board the bus.....next time , do not judge a bus just by surveying it during non-peak hours...not many passengers!........check first next time....Sorry....i'm in a bad mood 2day....SBS 9200 G (111) very packed today...(everyday as well)
i noticed recently tt even during off peak hrs, sv111 has MKIIIs SP running on their routes so the route is not totally useless. Besides, for pple stayin in Commonwealth, Queenstown area, it's better to take sv111 to Orchard than MRTOriginally posted by service_238:sometimes the VOs are there for advertisment purposes. just see how many DDs enter the orchard rd area?
i agree that it doesnt need a 95% VO fleet but as you know pax load fluctuate like the stock market at times. and when that happens what are you going to do?
Do note that sv10 wic runs from Tampines to Kent Ridge via Shenton Way is the ONLY PUBLIC TPT from Upp East Coast/East Coast Area to Shenton Way.Originally posted by iveco:But it does't go to Marine Parade, unlike 196. It also serves Old Airport Rd, while 14 & 196 cover Mountbatten Rd. Svc 10 and 14 duplicate each other from Bedok Rd/Upp Changi Rd East until Tg Katong/Mountbatten Rds and then the whole stretch of Nicoll Hwy. Svc 10 & 196 also run parallel from Nicoll Hwy to Keppel Rd. Extending 10 to Jurong East may boost ridership, but the route may be too long.
haha, try 147 which duplicates all but punggol, seng kang, kovan and harbourfront mrt stations....Originally posted by Townlink 268:actually, with the NEL bus rationalisation, only sv81 remained little affected as its important part is between TAM and Pasir Ris Dr 1.. it still retains its DDs and volvos.. most others in NEL corrider had suffered.. sv103 ridership off peak 80% drop to 20% etc.
yeah.. sv111 provides a fast link for pple stayin in Commonwealth, Queenstown area to Orchard. MRT have to transfer at cityhall.. thats a very important point.. but then Commonwealth, Queenstown is quite a mature estate...Originally posted by Acx1688:i noticed recently tt even during off peak hrs, sv111 has MKIIIs SP running on their routes so the route is not totally useless. dont forget sv147 is a goodwill service. along with 133, it was supposed to be chopped but SBS decided to retain it for the goodwill of HG residents.. plans were like HG to S'goon Int.. or Clementi to Chinatown/Marina Ctr (loop)Originally posted by bendy2003:haha, try 147 which duplicates all but punggol, seng kang, kovan and harbourfront mrt stations....
Sorry hor.. SBST wanted to chopped it.. it was PTC who stop them from doing so...Originally posted by 105090:dont forget sv147 is a goodwill service. along with 133, it was supposed to be chopped but SBS decided to retain it for the goodwill of HG residents.. plans were like HG to S'goon Int.. or Clementi to Chinatown/Marina Ctr (loop)
147 duplicates from S'goon to Outram Park..
extension of sv107 to HG doent make sense.. SBS up to something, but then 100 and 107 almost duplicates each other except aljunied, geylang vs kallang bahru areas
