A new service from Holland Road-City-Bedok-Marine Parade!
Starting on Sunday 3 July 2005.
Any comments on route, passenger loads, potential for DDs? -

You missed out Service 78. Service 78 is from Jurong East to Clementi.
Now Service 48 has been introduced.
So those <- 8> services won't be confined to East anytime soon.
Reminds me of the old 148 routes (Buona Vista-Toa Payoh and Clementi-Geylang Lor 1 I think) -

You missed out Service 78. Service 78 is from Jurong East to Clementi.

Hmm, SBST's decision to introduce a new route operating out of UEC shows they are capable of extending Svc 16 from Siglap to UEC. So why no changes to Svc 16?
Anyway, which depot will take charge of Svc 48? -

Quite possible. The stretch of Bt Timah Rd near SCGS is unsuitable for DDs. Hence 66 & 67 only had SDs. Later on, Tibs put some artics on 67 when they took over its operations.Originally posted by muziq bus:eee....dat means if bndep take control, she myt get Scanias....hehe..myt -
I like the route!
This route provides faster connection between Holland and Bugis, Little India. I would probably give up on SMRT 61 on my future trips to Bugis. Moreover this route has provided the only connectivity between Dunearn/ Bukit Timah and Holland V. SBST 165 has high passenger loads especially between Farrer and Holland, SBST48 would provide an alternate option.
My earlier request for a bus route between Holland via Sixth Ave, Bukit Timah/Dunearn, Little India was rejected. SBST 48 was a surprise.
If SBST48 got extended to Kent Ridge via NUH, this could provide quicker commute between NUS (SMU) and NUS (Kent Ridge).
Fortunately BV is not under SMRT, else this route would probably not possible. -
This service maybe controlled by BBDEP OR ARBP.

i agree w u tt if this svc connects to bt timah/dunearn rd via sixth ave, it would be able to tap the potential of the njc/nygh/hci area...as access to bugis n holland v will b direct n convenient for the young crowd...anyway passengership along farrer rd not tt high....yah extension to nus will b an added boost for the svc...95 can be scrapped...Originally posted by iamgoondu:I like the route!

Waiting time for SMRT61 may not be too bad. I would probably give up on SMRT61 as SBST48 is definitely plying on a more direct and lesser traffic route. -
can see most east side services has double digits (except 168 ).. actually, if 48 wants a better load, can extend it to Bedok via Tanah Merah MRT..
mainly i think is to make Upper EC Terminal have more services, but the area has so few people at all times!
