I don't know which version of the map is currently up, but I would like to point one one small mistake.Originally posted by medicheng:Of course it is not drawn to scale.
I admit the BTL, ERL and the JRL is added by myself.
Please check the 1st post again. I edited some of the mistakes.
cool stuff...same lineOriginally posted by demag_ac:I don't know which version of the map is currently up, but I would like to point one one small mistake.
Kaki Bukit is not on the left hand side of CCL station Upper Paya Lebar. It should be on the right hand side. KIm Chuan Depot is also on the right hand side of Upper Paya Lebar Station.
KCD will also serves as the depot for ERL. I was part of the team that excavated KCD from 2001 to 2002. 1.3 million cubic meters of earth was exacavted and 1343 nos of ground anchors were installed.
Trains proceeding to ERL will pass thru MacPherson station, which will be an interchange station between ERL and CCL Phase 2.Originally posted by demag_ac:KCD will also serves as the depot for ERL. New Automated People Mover System to Link Changi Airport's Three Terminals
Passengers making inter-terminal flight connections at Singapore Changi Airport will find it a breeze even after Terminal 3 opens in 2006. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is installing a new S$135 million Automated People Mover System to make transfers between the three terminals convenient and seamless.
The new Automated People Mover System will comprise of ten train services linking the three terminals through 6.5 kilometres of elevated train tracks. The new system will have a total of seven train stations: two stations in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 respectively and three stations in Terminal 3.
The new trains will come equipped with LCD screens in the cabins, giving flight information and other airport information. The cabins will also have more vertical stanchions and handholds, as well as designated areas for baggage trolleys, enhancing the convenience of users. There will also be plasma TV displays at the train stations to inform passengers of the arrival time of the next train.
"The new Automated People Mover System will provide users of Changi Airport with seamless connection to all Terminals, including the future of Terminal 3. The development of this new Automated People Mover System, an indispensable system to any major airport today, will most certainly be a challenging project to CAAS and our partner, Mitsubishi Consortium," said Mr Wong Woon Liong, Director-General CAAS.
Mitsubishi Consortium, comprising of Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, has been appointed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to supply the new Automated People Mover System at Changi Airport.
Work on the new Automated People Mover System will begin in December 2002 and is expected to be completed in 2006. Terminal 3 will have a handling capacity of 20 million passengers per annum, bringing the total handling capacity of Changi Airport to 64 million passengers per year.

Bartley Road Extension Phase 2 is being built directly on top of KCD. 600 meters of BRE is currently being built under Contract 821, which is the contract for building KCD. That portion of BRE has been designed by TYLIN SEA Pte Ltd as a integrated structure with the depot, that's why the design of it is different from the rest of BRE Phase 2.Originally posted by tranquilice:Trains proceeding to ERL will pass thru MacPherson station, which will be an interchange station between ERL and CCL Phase 2.
Will Bartley Rd Extension be build directly above KCD or beside KCD?
Heh, demag cranes are cool, but the one I like the most is the 500 tons cranes owned by Tiong woon and APLS Bok Seng. I forgot which company manufactured that crane ...Originally posted by BonJovi:cool stuff...same linewhich company r u frm? Bored Piling?
demag cranes r cool!
Sorry, I have no information regarding that. I only know that ERL will be running directly underneath BRE viaduct up to Airport Road, and that stretch has no stations as that is the tunnel leading to the depot.Originally posted by medicheng:ok noted... will update later when i am more free....
how about predicting the stations that will come out from BTL and ERL?
i'm oso civil engineering backgroundOriginally posted by demag_ac:Heh, demag cranes are cool, but the one I like the most is the 500 tons cranes owned by Tiong woon and APLS Bok Seng. I forgot which company manufactured that crane ...
Company? eh, not convenient to reveal here, but I am from a civil engineering background.![]()
i suspect u r a C.O.W frm LTAOriginally posted by demag_ac:Sorry, I have no information regarding that. I only know that ERL will be running directly underneath BRE viaduct up to Airport Road, and that stretch has no stations as that is the tunnel leading to the depot.
For ERL, KPE Contract 424 has provisions in their contract for a no bored piles zone near the intersection between BRE and KPE. That is for ERL's bored tunnels.
BTL, I have no information at all, sorry.
Not necessary from LTA. Anyone working for either Roads, KPE or CCL could see all the information in their contract drawings.Originally posted by BonJovi:i suspect u r a C.O.W frm LTA![]()
I think some of the companies recently bought the latest crane from Tadano, the GT550E (55 tons capacity), saw 3 of them running around Singapore already. One of them is at C822 at MacPherson, saw it last year.Originally posted by BonJovi:i'm oso civil engineering background.
i prefer cranes frm Peck Tiong Choon! Cool and efficient! Kim Chuan tt side is bored piling singapore rite?![]()
Will Bartley Rd Extension Phase 2 be build as a viaduct or build on ground surface? Phase 1 between Kaki Bukit and Tampines Ave 10 is build as a viaduct which leads me to think that phase 2 will also be build as a viaduct?Originally posted by demag_ac:Bartley Road Extension Phase 2 is being built directly on top of KCD. 600 meters of BRE is currently being built under Contract 821, which is the contract for building KCD. BRE is split into Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1, from Airport Road to Tampines Ave 10 (Contract 3224), was built by Sato Kgoyo (S) Pte Ltd from 2000 to Dec 2003. Phase 2, from Bartley Road to Airport Road (Contract 3370), is being built by L&M Prestressing Pte Ltd.
Unfortunely, L&M is facing financial diffculties, so BRE will not be opened in Mar 2006, as stated in the press release / flyers / project information signboard.
I thought the tunnel from ERL leads to KCD from MacPherson station? MacPherson station will be the future interchange between ERL and CCL phase 2.Originally posted by demag_ac:Sorry, I have no information regarding that.
