The CIDB estimates that from now until the year 2000, the public sector is expected to award more than US$5.71 billion worth of contracts each year. Civil engineering projects are expected to remain well above US$1.43 billion in light of recent announcements on the new Light Rail Transit line, called the North Shore Line, which will run from Woodlands to Pasir Ris, and link up coastal towns along the Johor Straits; an underground network, on which a feasibility study is underway; and the Mass Rapid Transit extension to Changi Airport.Wow this is quite a long ago announcement. wonder if the North Shore Line will be MRT or LRT........
which ATLAS did u check up?Originally posted by muziq bus:i checked the ATLAS....Singapore future lines will be even more messier...a reliable source (forgot the name), though not that up to date...Pasir Ris might be extended in the distant future
My ATLAS used for secondary,...the future lines are all very complex...but are all planned and not confirmed to be built...ccl can be seen, EW extension also, Eastern region a little is shown...da city area very messyOriginally posted by khk:which ATLAS did u check up?
as for any rail network in the NE region (woodlands to tampines/pasir ris) is not very likely... the concept of seletar regional centre is not gg to materialise... so the need for such a line is not very likely... correct me if i am wrong...
The DT extension looks like part of the CCL, just as the CGA spur line belongs to the EWL.Originally posted by disappear:This following MRT LRT System Map(with Boon Lay Extension & Downtown Extension added) looks so much as if it was done by LTA!!!

Is CGL a line on its own or is it a part of EWL?Originally posted by iveco:The DT extension looks like part of the CCL, just as the CGA spur line belongs to the EWL.

There is no Adam line. Are you referring to Bukit Timah line (BTL)? There is a plan that Adam CCL station will interchange with BTL. The plan also mentioned that BTL will link Bukit Panjang to the city.Originally posted by LazerLordz:No link to Bukit Panjang for the Adam line?![]()
OMG it look as messy as tokyo japan one alreadyOriginally posted by medicheng:hmmmmm after the recent announcing of new downtown line and circle line, i go around reading up on MRT lines... then i come out with a edited version of the map.... hmmmm i dunno correct or not.... so all come in see and give me comments.... and point out any mistakes that i might have make....
Singapore is being hollowed out by LTAOriginally posted by I-like-flings(m):OMG it look as messy as tokyo japan one already![]()

Depends on whether there is space to build an elevated LRT system in the area.Originally posted by disappear:Will they have underground LRT line in future
There is space constraint on both sides of Dunearn Rd/Bt Timah Rd. There is not much space unless the canal is diverted elsewhere, then the viaduct and stations can be build at where the canal used to be. But in the end, I think BTL will be most probably underground.Originally posted by medicheng:if technically possible and funds are available why not?
I predict BTL might be a elevated system.....
My ATLAS is da Longman Atlas Singapore and the World....Originally posted by muziq bus:My ATLAS used for secondary,...the future lines are all very complex...but are all planned and not confirmed to be built...ccl can be seen, EW extension also, Eastern region a little is shown...da city area very messy
Mine is the same as yours.... saw the future Concept Plan 2001, there will be more than 10 lines in the future.Originally posted by muziq bus:My ATLAS is da Longman Atlas Singapore and the World....
Da map is based on da Singapore Concept Plan 2001.....da Woodlands-Pasir Ris shore line can be seen..and it will be connected to the future Changi West ...which will be a reclaimed area...

I predict the BTL will join up with the Bukit Panjang LRT line and travel down Upper Bukit Timah road.Main problem would be the KTM bridge and Rail Mall along the narrow portion past Assumption.Originally posted by medicheng:if technically possible and funds are available why not?

It's Changi East, as Changi East Air Base is located there.Originally posted by muziq bus:My ATLAS is da Longman Atlas Singapore and the World....
