some services, SBS had obviously given up hope of them being a profitable route:
Sv11: weekdays and at night
Sv68: near empty on operation hours due to long 40 mins freq.. ppl chose to walk..
Sv90: during weekends
Sv93: its loads were never good.. in morning also never have full loads
Sv103: after being chopped, avg 10 ppl for each leg of the journey, compared to 80% loads to/from New Bridge Rd
Sv115: another goodwill service?
Sv119: during school holidays, low crowds.. freq can be 30mins/trip
Sv183: after peak hours
Sv186
Sv194: weekdays
Sv246: after jln tukang
Sv231, sv235

As for 231 and 235 i guess u havent seen the students hours (231) and during PM Peak (235) -

Although 115 have bad freq and only 1 Perm.. BUt itz loads are Average.. i would say that svcs. like 275 and 191 is even worst than 115...

i waited for 231W until i gave up at TAP once.. long freq.. only 2 buses going le.. and very few pax.. 235 also nearly empty, but thats 3 weeks ago during holidays.. i assume feeders always have good loads all day.. sv93.. well, its freq doesnt says it has very good loads le, though loads are good in AM peak, thereafter, its near kosongOriginally posted by service_238:watch what you say with those 3 services. TAP seems to have too much feeders for its size of a town.. if some trunk svcs can use the feeder routes instead, then the feeder buses can be put to better use.. now have 4 svcs, after 237 is gone..

You know that Sv 119 on weekdays especially school days when going to or back schools it can be packed and full house for single deck and packed for double-decked around the time between 6:30 am to 7:15 am so you can't say it is empty even it happen so but sometimes in weekends it can be packed too as aunties from Kovan Market take the bus to their home nearby after groceries shopping.

93 after AM Peak, the load is not too bad( still got more between 5 - 15 people)

Service 93 will be withdrawn after the Circle Line is complete. They're just keeping it for now as "a link".

north east line u should see the evening peak going back to punggol... crowded....

Cos TPY is really has mainly 3 routes to get from one end to the other...? Just take away 231, 235, 232 and let 238 remain -

DUN THEY EVER DARE WITHDRAW 93! If that happens, there will be no link from Adam/ Farrer area to EUNOS! Who cares about Circle Line? I believe more people will still take 93 as it is NOT convienient to walk up and down to the station.

Sigh. This always happen when you have someone who starts a topic about profitable vs non-profitable services, which is why I asked a question previously - How do you determine which service is profitable and which is not?
Some points to ponder upon.
1. How do you define the profitability of a particular service?
2. What are the key things that you need to consider in order to determine the profitability? Is it just total number of buses vs number of passengers these buses fetch? Or is it the higher the frequency of the buses, the higher the profits earned?
3. Would a service with high frequency equate to being a service which is profitable?
4. Vice versa, would a service with lower frequency equate to being a service which is NOT profitable? -

Maybe Service 93 can be shortened to Bishan Int or Toa Payoh. Maybe it can be extended to Ang Mo Kio or Yishun too.
