Neither more buses means more cost... It shows the service has higher passenger ridership... -
its the same.. if a feeder bus comes along, and gets full load, but is primary school students of 45c fares each, it may not mean it is making maximum profit..
do u ppl think 170 is really profit making? 170 makes pax happy when they olny charge 64c from kranji to JB chkpt.. f/s bet WDl chkpt and JB chkpt only o.5 stages, verses 950 1.5// goodwill and preserve its tradition.?
also IMO, 74 may also not be profitable as most pax along its route are students, which may pay 45c or monthly bus pass.. the actual rate of pax paying adult fre is significantly lower than students paying 45c or bus pass -
Actually, I find that most crowded services that are not serving the city are packed with students.
